Cybersecurity Engineer – Technical Security Operations

We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on
Cybersecurity Engineer
to take ownership of the company's day-to-day security operations and technical implementation. This role is deeply embedded in the technological side of cybersecurity, requiring expertise in configuring and operating security tools, investigating threats, patching systems, and supporting the secure operation of infrastructure across the organization.

The ideal candidate is driven, detail-oriented, and proficient in threat detection, endpoint and network security, and system hardening.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, tune, and maintain security tools and systems including
    SIEM
    ,
    EDR
    ,
    vulnerability scanners
    , and
    firewalls
    .
  • Perform
    vulnerability assessments
    ,
    patch deployment
    , and
    remediation tracking
    in collaboration with IT teams.
  • Monitor and respond to security events and alerts, coordinating with the SOC when needed.
  • Support
    penetration tests
    , internal scans, and log analysis.
  • Support the implementation of technical controls required by internal compliance policies.
  • Maintain documentation on system configurations, procedures, and remediation actions.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of new tools and assist in integrating them into the environment.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong practical experience in
    network and system security
    ,
    incident response
    , and
    vulnerability management
    .
  • Hands-on experience with:

1. Cisco network appliances
(routing, switching, ACLs).

2. Palo Alto firewalls
, including security policies, threat prevention, NAT, and VPN setup.

  • Familiarity with
    SIEMs
    ,
    EDR platforms
    , and
    vulnerability scanners
    (e.g., Tenable Nessus, Qualys).
  • Strong experience with
    Windows and Linux system hardening
    , secure configuration, and patch automation.
  • Comfort working with scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) for task automation and log parsing.
  • Exposure to cloud environments (Azure) and their security configurations is a plus.
  • TryHackMe, HackTheBox, or similar practical experience is considered valuable.
  • Cybersecurity certifications such as
    CompTIA Security+
    ,
    OSCP

    PCNSA
    ,
    CCNA Security
    , or other relevant certifications etc. are advantageous.
