Job Overview

For our Lugano Office (Switzerland), we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in designing and implementing JAVA REST-based API systems and BPMN-driven systems.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical proficiency, solid architectural insight, and the ability to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. 

What you'll do:

  • Development & Integration: Design, develop, integrate, and test Java-based backend solutions, microservices architectures, and REST APIs
  • Expertise in Java/Microservices/API Solutions: Act as a subject matter expert, supporting the lifecycle management and development of robust Java solutions
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Agile teams, providing expert consultation and support to product owners to gather requirements and document solutions that align with business objectives
  • Secure Coding: Apply best practices in secure coding to ensure all solutions are robust, secure, and aligned with regulatory requirements

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree, preferably in computer science or engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in software design and development of Java microservices architectures
  • Ideally,  experience within the financial sector, especially in Cards & Payment systems
  • Advanced practical skills with Spring Boot (2/3) and REST API development using OpenAPI 2/3
  • Good grasp of BPMN processes, particularly with platforms like Camunda or Flowable
  • Hands-on experience with database integrations, SQL, and event streaming systems like Apache Kafka
  • Advanced knowledge of secure coding best practices
  • Experience in architecting distributed systems with best practices for system design and implementation
  • Proficiency in Italian and English is a must
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology is a plus
Location and Work Flexibility
  • Please note that a fully remote work policy is not offered for this role
  • Candidates should be prepared to relocate to Canton Ticino/Switzerland
  • Work-from-home days may be possible according to the Client's policy
