Role Description

The Investment Banking Analyst supports the execution of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, and strategic advisory transactions by conducting financial analysis, market research, and due diligence. Working closely with senior bankers and clients, the Analyst plays a critical role in preparing valuation models, client presentations, and transaction materials. This position requires strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in financial analysis and deal execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate company performance, valuations, and transaction outcomes.
  • Conduct comprehensive company, industry, and market research to support client pitches and transaction execution.
  • Prepare presentation materials, pitch books, and investment memoranda for client meetings and internal discussions.
  • Perform valuation analyses using methodologies such as DCF, precedent transactions, comparable company analysis, and LBO models.
  • Assist in the due diligence process by collecting and analyzing financial, operational, and legal data.
  • Support transaction execution, including drafting documentation, coordinating with external advisors, and managing timelines.
  • Monitor financial markets, economic trends, and relevant industry developments to identify potential opportunities.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to develop client proposals and strategic recommendations.
  • Maintain databases of financial and market information for ongoing analysis and benchmarking.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial analyses and materials delivered to clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, financial consulting, or related areas (internship experience acceptable for entry-level).
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with financial databases such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, or PitchBook.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial and presentation materials.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex financial concepts clearly.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to client service.
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Advanced certifications (CFA Level I/II, CPA, or FMVA) are advantageous but not required.
