Overview: **_ DO YOU WANT TO CONTRIBUTE TO BUILDING A BETTER WORLD?_** The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction empowers a unique global network of design and construction experts committed to sustainably transforming the building sector. As we embark on an exciting new chapter to accelerate the Foundation’s impact, we are seeking an experienced **Program Manager** to lead the Foundation’s Expert Insights program and create new opportunities to foster debate and raise awareness on sustainable construction. - This role is based in Zurich, Switzerland. **No agencies can be considered for this job posting, and no agency involvement is required unless contractually assigned.** **Responsibilities**: - The main purpose of this role is to collaborate with the Foundation’s external network of experts to co-create a dynamic program of technically robust thought leadership activities that will inform the Foundation’s global efforts to increase awareness of best practice in sustainable construction. **Expert network relations** - Support the Head of the Holcim Foundation in building a global Expert Pool of approximately thirty members - Build trusting relationships with them and the broader network of +300 interdisciplinary experts to foster deep collaboration and insights on best practice thinking and examples - Solicit Expert Pool members for technical expertise to support the Foundation’s activities or to propose and/or lead locally relevant outreach activities (workshops, conferences, partnerships etc.) and support their deployments and draft/edit outcomes for communication **Publications and event curation** - Provide technical interpretation of evolving themes relating to sustainable construction and ensure the currency of the Foundation’s digital knowledge hub (case studies, topic summaries, etc.) - Work collaboratively with Foundation staff to research, define and propose new formats to improve visibility of the Foundation’s technical content - Review outcomes of local outreach events and design event content / formats for global outreach accordingly - Curate and project manage the technical content, speakers and outputs for the Foundation’s global outreach events, from monthly webinars to a multi-day bi-annual forum - Collaborate with Foundation staff to develop new strategies to promote sustainable construction Education/Qualifications: - Academic degree (Master) in architecture, urban planning, civil, mechanical or electrical engineering **Experience**: - 5+ years of experience in planning, design and execution of real construction projects (buildings and/or infrastructure) - Experience working internationally is preferred Knowledge & Skills: - In-depth and current knowledge of sustainable development and construction (theory and practice) - Advanced research skills, awareness of emerging issues for professionals in design and construction - Effective written and oral communication, both one-on-one and public speaking - Strong stakeholder focus and service-oriented attitude - Open-minded and inclusive team player - Strategic and creative thinker, able to decide, act and lead independently - Able to work under pressure, multi-task, take on responsibilities, and deliver on time - Willingness and capacity to travel and work abroad for short periods of time Language Requirements: High proficiency in English (oral and written) - mother-tongue or equivalent.
