To support the continuous transformation of ABB, we are building the Group insurance team in Zurich, Switzerland. This role will assume primary responsibilities for the Group Property Insurance program together with managing the Risk Engineering activities. The mandate is to further develop the Group insurance programs by optimizing risk cover and minimizing external costs of risk. Further role enrichment by managing other Group insurance programs is possible.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Define risk engineering advancement strategy based on deep insight into ABB’s property portfolio
- Drive implementation of risk improvement actions through proactive internal engagement
- Define a clear internal communication strategy with targeted messaging according to stakeholder seniority level (from Group/ BA CFOs, Division Capex responsibles, Risk Manager, local management)
- Establish and maintain a database for the Group’s property portfolio and setup efficient reporting and visualisation functionalities for targeted messaging
- Define the scope of risk assessments from number of visits to prioritisation of sites and risks to be covered
- Manage the information flow between ABB’s local operations, insurer and the Group Insurance and Risk Financing team
- Analyze the property portfolio identifying main risks, loss drivers and patterns across Business Areas, Division, regions / countries
- Ensure an efficient Group insurance program transferring risks of property, machinery breakdown and business interruption to insurers
- Provide insights and conduct data analysis in close cooperation with other team members
- Manage the complete process from risk identification to insurance placement in close cooperation with the placement broker covering insurance strategy, data collection, policy wording, tender and placement, premium allocation and policy implementation
- Monitor and manage the performance of Group insurers and placement brokers
- Manage major losses and claims recovery actions in close cooperation with other team members, loss adjusters and insurers
- Advise network brokers and Country Insurance Risk Managers on specific aspects of the Group property insurance program
**Your background**:
- 7+ years work experience with multinational insurance programs gained as insurance underwriter, broker or insurance manager of multinational corporates
- Thorough technical skills and know-how of property insurance solutions
- Experience with production engineering and associated risks and/or strong technical understanding
- Experience with risk management tools, dashboard creation and concise and effective communication to different stakeholder levels
- Able to extract essential information and to present complex cases clearly and succinctly
- Advanced knowledge of other insurance lines an advantage
- Highly motivated team player, self-starter and able to work independently
- Excellent organizational skills with proven attention to detail
- Proficient with MS Office suite as well as excellent English required (written and spoken); German is an advantage
