In recent years, Ridgeline has assembled an international team of \ >45 highly experienced drug discovery professionals and built and operated several new successful companies, including Black Diamond Therapeutics (NASDAQ: BDTX), Bright Peak Therapeutics and Monte Rosa Therapeutics (NASDAQ: GLUE). Ridgeline is currently expanding its capabilities in Basel to support further company creation efforts in small molecules, biologics, and gene/cell therapy with focus on oncology and immunology. To this purpose, we are hiring a **Scientist **with expertise in **Cancer Cell Biology**. In this role, you will contribute to the advancement of innovative biotherapeutics by designing and conducting laboratory experiments, developing methodology, and generating and interpreting scientific data in a highly collaborative environment. As a key member of our team, you will also be responsible for leading some early research projects and communicating results to appropriate stakeholders. **RESPONSIBILITIES** - Biochemical and cellular assay development, validation, and compound screening to support cancer drug discovery efforts - Conduct hands-on cancer cell culturing, viability assessments, phenotypic assessments, and other in vitro experiments - Independently design and perform complex experiments and selects appropriate methods and techniques; troubleshoots experiments - Execute and improve existing protocols and develop new protocols and methods as required - Independently analyze data, draw conclusions, and propose next steps - Report data, with mínimal guidance, in a clear and concise manner, with a clear understanding of its implications - Work collaboratively with team members to ensure the efficient relay of information and forward translation of data - Maintain and grow scientific knowledge and technical skills through scientific literature **QUALIFICATIONS** - PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Medicine, or other relevant disciplines - 2+ years of cancer biology work experience in the academic, pharmaceutical, or biotech setting - Solid and broad experience in cell and molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to cell culture, immunofluorescence microscopy and imaging, CRISPR gene editing, cell line engineering, quantitative western blot or related, ELISA, RT-qPCR - Expertise with the Incucyte® live-cell analysis systems will be a plus - Familiar with common assay platforms - Experience in designing and implementing cell-based studies using a variety of techniques including live-cell imaging, fluorescence microscopy, ELISAs, and western blotting - Demonstrated ability to design and execute experiments, analyse, and interpret results - Good organizational and interpersonal skills - Highly motivated with desire and ability to learn - Comfortable to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment **WHAT WE CURRENTLY OFFER** - **Offices**: Our well-equipped laboratories and offices are located at the Tech Park, a premier address for early-stage start-ups in Basel. - **Commuter Benefits**: We support our employees tailored to their personal needs in commuting to work and offer parking facilities or a commuter contribution. - **Flexible Working**: We support flexible working as appropriate. - **Christmas Closure**: In addition to the 24 holidays per year, our offices/labs are closed between Christmas and New Year. - **Birthday Retreat**: On top of that, your birthday is your personal holiday - our employees enjoy their birthday with a day off. - **Food**: We like get-togethers during lunch time.
