Head of Technical Services

Janssen Vaccines, branch of Cilag GmbH International is recruiting for a Head of the Technical Services department, located in Bern, Switzerland:

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Represent the department as site leadership member in governance bodies and project teams, and in interactions with internal and external partners
- Build an open and stimulating working environment, which fosters personal development
- Coordinate the departmental budgets to balance resources with project demands and priorities
- Define and implement the departmental strategy in support of the site strategy and objectives, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and building codes
- Forecast the capital required to achieve business outcomes, linking the Site Asset Master Planning and the Long-Range Financial Plan
- Manage the CAPEX portfolio, leading the efforts to submit appropriation requests, including business cases, conceptual designs, and cost estimates, in collaboration with the Project Delivery department for overall governance and integration into the CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls) projects
- Provide direction and leadership in the areas of 1) preventive & corrective maintenance, 2) calibration, 3) site engineering and commissioning & qualification for all GMP & non-GMP assets, 4) automation and Computerized System Validation, and 5) GMP & non-GMP cleaning, catering, fire safety and site security services
- Sustain the site's Business Continuity Plan
- Review the departmental operations regularly to improve departmental performance and to mitigate business continuity risks

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Master’s degree in Engineering or other relevant fields

**Experience and Skills**:
**Required**:

- Proven track record in project engineering/management including design construction and commissioning and qualification
- Extensive knowledge of cGMP and GxP regulations and norms as well as technical standards including local building codes
- Business intelligence/organizational savviness, social and emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to be effective as senior leader in a multifaceted and energetic environment

**Preferred**:

- Experience in biopharma, having a broad understanding of the various CMC functions, preferably as line manager
- Experience with Quality and Asset Risk Management, Manufacturing Asset Management and/or Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools

**Other**:

- Proficiency in English and German
- Job may require up to 10% of (inter)national travel
