Project Manager Technical Services

The Bern site acts as a center of expertise for development and manufacturing of innovative cell based viral
- and bacterial vaccines and is recently expanding its portfolio into bacterial based therapeutic products.

Shapes the tactical side of the Technical Services business and delivers key contributions to enable the site’s future in order to support the development and manufacture of Pharmaceuticals in a regulated environment and maximize the benefit to the company in line with the Johnson & Johnson CREDO and the leadership imperatives.

**Essential duties**:

- Development and execution of Operational Excellence projects in the key areas of Technical Services, i.e. Maintenance, Engineering, Commissioning & Qualification, Facility Management as well as Security & Services
- Drives the optimization of the ecological footprint of the site towards higher energy efficiency and lower emissions
- Evaluation and implementation of future operations and services models which includes developing internal as well as external partnerships
- Develops and implements the future Technical Services business processes aiming towards an ISO 55000 certification
- Contributes to the Site Asset Master Planning (SAMP) and the associated Long Range Financial Planning (LRFP)
- Support the local investment project portfolio management and provides project controlling expertise
- Set-up and accompanying a vocational training program within Technical Services and act as active representative in industry associations and liaison to Academia
- Acts as local representative and collaborates in global Janssen initiatives
- Assumes deputy lead role for the team leads and department head during absences

**Qualifications**:
Education & Experience
- University degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Biotechnology or Chemical discipline
- Years of experience: e.g. BS min. 10 yrs.’ MS/MBA/Ph.D. min. 5 yrs., with budget management accountability required. People management experience is a plus.

**Skills & Competences**:

- Sound professional industry experience as Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager is highly desired
- Extensive knowledge of GxP regulations as well as ISO and EN technical standards is mandatory
- Self-driven and able to set own targets, ability to set priorities under pressure and team player with influencing and strong analytical skills
- Fluency in English is a must; a very good level of German is important, and any additional languages are advantageous
- Ability to prepare technical and financial analysis (i.e. cost benefit, SWOT, FMEA) and articulate business cases to enable sound business decisions
- This role may require less than 10% regional travel, as needed.
