To work as part of the Financial Lines underwriting team, underwriting a profitable portfolio of business and to aid the growth of the overall portfolio according to proper underwriting guidelines. By performing challenging and meaningful tasks, role holder will pick up valuable business, technical and sales skills to prepare for future career in insurance. Financial lines insurance products include: directors’ and officers’ liability, professional liability, crime and cyber insurance.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Analyze and assess client exposure data (including the review and analysis of audited financial statements), prepare pricing tools
- To provide, structure and sort as necessary information and make the respective data entry for committee referrals in order to support the underwriting process
- Ensuring that all information is entered on the respective underwriting, pricing and data storage systems and is kept up to date and accurate
- Ad hoc research and project work to provide the Underwriters with information to make informed underwriting decisions

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

- Working towards bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent
- Prior experience in financial lines underwriting environment of advantage
- Excellent level of numeracy, with demonstrable evidence of manipulating data clearly and accurately with the ability to extract & clearly articulate key points
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
- Able to organize self-including effective scheduling, prioritization and time management skills, completing tasks to tight deadlines. Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude
- Very good command of German and English, French would be a plus
- Comfortable taking ownership for own work, identifying the need for action (using initiative) whilst working effectively within a team.
- Displays a resilient and adaptable style, track record of remaining calm in demanding circumstances, adjusting comfortably to changing conditions / priorities
