Novavax, Inc. is headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland with additional facilities in Uppsala, Sweden, Bohumil, Czech Republic and Zurich, Switzerland.

We are seeking a Director for Commercial Distribution, Europe. This position will support the European Organization with securing the distribution of our finished products to the European customers. You will be responsible for securing that ordered finished products are delivered to the right customer within the agreed timelines through our third party distribution network.

You will add value by:

- Overseeing and liaising with 3PL provider(s), Direct Customer contracts and Supply Chain to ensure effective and timely delivery of product in the European territory.
- Regular communication with local Novavax European operations to ensure that all local requirements for product delivery are fulfilled.
- Managing required reporting from 3PL portals re: shipments, inventory, returns, and goods movements to upper management and other Novavax departments.
- Liaising with Novavax European Finance to facilitate revenue reporting via 3PL’s portal for month-, quarter-, and year-end financial reviews.
- Overseeing outbound deliveries with 3PLs warehouses. This would include deliveries to customers, and customer returns.
- Working with 3PL suppliers on Continuous Improvement managing a pipeline of improvement initiatives for: Service Quality and Service Efficiency
- Monitoring and updating key performance indicators and reports for 3PL vendor(s) used for review by senior management.
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholder departments to facilitate workflow activities.
- Supporting or representing the team from time to time at direct customer meetings or in projects.
- Participating in service improvement or cost saving initiatives and projects as relevant to the role and areas of expertise.
- Supporting the internal team in investigation of complaints and issues.
- Working with internal ERP systems and follows company processes.
- Performing master data set up and other functions in ERP as required

Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or other relevant discipline preferred.
- 10+ years work experience in Logistics, Transportation, Import/Export, cold-chain other Supply Chain function.
- 10+ years work experience in Biotech-Pharmaceuticals is preferred (a minimum of five recent years in Biotech)
- 10+ Experience in ERP solutions (SAP, Oracle etc.)
- Experience managing projects for high-performing global teams.
- Strong leadership, collaboration and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to problem solve and drive positive change on a global scale.
- Dynamic, pragmatic, and passionate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
