About Coty

**Mission**: This is a Research and Development position building sensory capability in the skin care category to enable the development of brilliantly irresistible products and experiences. You will be reporting to the Director of CPI, Sensory & Prospective Insights who is responsible for the team supporting innovation programs with trends and consumer insights to serve Coty’s Industry leading brands.

As Scientist CPI Skin Care, you will contribute to build deep skin care products understanding, identifying relevant sensory insights, and ensuring your learnings are embedded into these programs.

Thanks to networking abilities, you will be working in close collaboration with our Centers of Excellence in France, China, and US.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Active competitive watch of the Chinese skin care market primarily + colour cosmetics via social networks listening for ex. (products, claims, communication, key ingredients )
Collaborating closely with our Centre of Excellence in China, US, France
Sourcing Chinese local products (skin care, colour cosmetics, fragrance) of interest to:
Run sensory testing to position these products on our internal mappings
Run co-creation workshops with consumers and cosmetologists
Derive forces / weaknesses of each product
Creating and managing a knowledge database, including communication, claims as expressed in the different countries
Being a connector between all teams working on the skin care category

Knowledge and Experience
Scientific background - Master’s degree in Formulation Chemistry or Cosmetology. A formula development knowledge is required.
Experience required in multiple areas of the cosmetics industry (skincare, makeup, fragrance, etc.) to enable working across brands and categories in the Coty portfolio.
Demonstrated passion for the beauty world following the trends
A good understanding and deep knowledge of the trends and business culture of the Asian cosmetics market (especially Chinese).
Strong communicator across our R&D technical centres with marketing and commercial teams
Regulatory knowledge in the new Chinese cosmetic regulation (CSAR) will be highly appreciated.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and coordination skills.
Strong transversal management and project management skills.
Excellent analytical skills
Demonstrated high level of team spirit but also strong ability to work independently.
Proactive, self-motivated. Able to set priorities, respect deadlines.
Fluent in Chinese, English and French is mandatory.
