The Value Chain Lead, Value optimization is accountable for activities, from API to FG distribution, related to strategic oversight and management of brands assigned to him/her. This position will refresh the JSC product strategy for these brands, including updating the Product Strategic Roadmap. The role will manage all JSC activities and resources that are needed for this portfolio of brands, including sourcing, cost-efficient tech transfer to commercial sites, and supply sustainability.

The Value Chain Lead will:

- Lead global, cross-functional, multidisciplinary Value Chain Teams (VCTs), with full accountability for value optimization and supply sustainability for his/her product(s). Leadership of the VCT will continue until the brand is transferred to late-stage team
- Engage commercial to understand brand positioning within Janssen Portfolio; ensure commercial strategy and customer needs are incorporated into the refresh of product supply chain strategy, PSRs, and product lifecycle management plans - as appropriate
- Define jointly with VCT an optimized sourcing strategy as necessary
- Set strategic direction for the brand relative to the brand supply chain, refresh the Product Strategy Roadmap, prepare the business cases for prioritization, articulate these business cases to stakeholders to secure funding, and assure the approved plan is executed by relevant parties within JSC and outside JSC
- Manage supply chain related risks through the product and supply chain optimization stages. Leads the VCT in identifying, mitigating, and communicating risk to JSC management and Compound Development teams, to adequately address supply chain risks.
- Assure Value Chain Risk Management recommendations are implemented.
- Be accountable for product performance metrics (e.g. COGS, Cycle Time)
- Be accountable for the development and execution of the product strategy, including, refreshing value stream maps, and driving improvement for the product’s value chain (e.g., cost of goods optimization)
- Be accountable for, and manages, IMTs as necessary
- Represent supply chain in the CDTs.
- Develop, monitor, and communicate project budgets to relevant stakeholders
- Build strong interdependent partnerships and manages the communication effectively with key stakeholders in DPDS, JSC, and our partners in the Commercial and GSDO organizations, in strong alliance with the JSC Planning and Customer Management organization.
- Leads product related communication to JSC stakeholders and senior management, including project updates, issue escalation and risk mitigation
- Mentor and provide feedback to VCT members and their functional management on performance within the VCT. Will provide guidance to the VCT members in the resolution of conflicts, both of technical and business nature.
- Challenge the status-quo, drives innovative approaches & concepts, embeds Faster Forward principles and customer centricity in his/her Team’s activities

**Qualifications**
Required
- A Bachelor’s degree (or University equivalent)
- A minimum of 10 years related experience
- Experience managing a portfolio of products/projects with a demonstrated ability to multi-task, lead, and deliver results
- Proven track record in working with complex, global, products
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal; track-record of being able to position recommendations with audience mind
- Insight in Commercial, End-to-End supply chain characteristics and understanding of financial processes such as business case development, P&L calculation and COGS
- Understanding of business requirements and supply chain product metrics, demonstrated ability to improve supply chain metrics
- Proven track record of developing cost benefit analyses and articulate business cases for stakeholders’ approvals
- Demonstrated ability to make sound business and customer centric decisions
- Proven track record in leading multifunctional, ‘virtual’ and global teams to success
- Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries through influence, negotiation and partnering
- This position may require up to 25% domestic & international travel
