EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) Manager

In order to reinforce the EHS team in Basel we are currently recruiting for an **EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) Manager** In the role of EHS manager, you will provide support to ensure Site compliance with applicable international and local EHS regulatory requirements. Description/Tasks: - Provide support to ensure Site compliance with applicable international and local EHS regulatory requirements - Liaise with local EHS and Airport authorities on all EHS matters, reporting and inspections - Provide co-ordination in response to incidents - Monitor and continually improve the ISO 14000 and theISO 45001Management Systems - Using a hands-on approach, work with line management to ensure that activities related to EHS programs: training, audits, establishing safe work practices, measurements, inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments and controls, are effectively implemented - Lead Action Group meetings to facilitate resolution of EHS topics - Help create a culture of injury-free attitudes within the line management teams - Facilitate Site EHS measurements, analyze trends and establish, with line management, action plans for corrective and preventive actions, as required - Perform risk assessments andhazard/ near miss reporting & investigation - Develop tools to support risk assessments, safe work practices and adverse event / near miss reporting & investigation - Analyze and address mandatory EHS training requirements and contents; plan and implement mandatory EHS trainings within the organization - Identify upcoming local and international EHS regulations and risk initiatives, analyze potential impacts on operations and advise Director EHS / Site Leadership on the acceptable means of compliance - Develop and maintain regulatory documentation and records - Support EMEA local EHS representatives for EHS management system implementation and improvements Qualification/Experience: - Bachelors degree in Science, Engineering or related field, with post graduate EHS qualifications, e.g. NEBOSH diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety. - At least 4 years of professional EHS experience in aviation or pharmaceutical/chemical/automotive industries - Have a working knowledge of EU, French and Swiss EHS regulatory compliance requirements, experience and knowledge of environmental regulatory framwork and interaction with environmental regulatory authorities in France (eg. DREAL) would be an asset - Hands-on experience in implementing EHS management systems - Hands-on experience in implementing waste and emission minimization plans and programs - Thorough understanding of EHS risk management, hazard identification, auditing, and related governmental reporting requirements - Experience in conducting EHS training and supporting / coaching staff to develop and deliver safe work systems - Ability to influence by example and work with all levels of the organization - Ability to communicate effectively, develop and make presentations at all levels of the organization - Ability to write concise, user friendly EHS related procedures and manuals - Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office products - Ability to lead continual improvement projects - Very good knowledge of English is a must, French and/or German would be an asset
