**The challenge**:
As a Analytical Chemistry Associate Scientist/ Scientist, you will be part of the analytical team within the chemical process development Department.

The position utilizes an array of standard and state-of-the-art technologies. Technology must be continually evaluated, developed and implemented in order to maintain the required level of scientific competency, stay competitive, and meet established and future research goals.

**The position**:

- Participate and contribute substantially to multidisciplinary and international project teams
- Identify and organize access to solutions for innovation projects and business support.
- Solve problems and generate ideas for new procedures or experiments.
- Plan, develop and execute experimental research.
- Maintain, calibrate, qualify, operate and troubleshoots laboratory instrumentation, and pro-actively contribute to the organization and efficiency of the lab environment.
- Document and communicate results timely, accurately and in a self-explanatory manner in line with the agreed standards and work processes (document lab work in agreed current tools) to ensure fast turnaround of results.
- Present and report research, data and conclusions to internal scientific and project review teams.
- Evaluate new technologies and instrumentation to meet current and future research needs
- Proactively co-operate and network within R&D locally, globally and with external partners.
- Work closely with other departments and business functions (e.g. Quality, Regulatory, Marketing).
- Collaborate with other scientists of varying disciplines both within and outside of the department.

**The Ideal**:

- University degree ideally Master/ PhD in Analytical Chemistry
- Profound knowledge of major analytical techniques.
- Strong background in chromatography, synthesis and/or in biotechnology
- Practical and theoretical grasp of the theories and underlying principles behind multiple techniques and methods.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory, in either industry or academy is essential.
- Excellent integrating, analytical and communication skills
- Strongly self-motivated; solves business problems and works well with limited supervision
- Able to perform in a fast-paced work environment where constant re-prioritization is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English and German, any other language is an asset
