As a Strategic Supply Unit Manager you will act as the general manager of the newly formed Strategic Supply Unit within the IEC Low Voltage Motor Division, Motion Business Area. You will have end-to-end performance responsibility starting from managing our supply chain to strategy, business models, and execution for ABBs small general performance motor range. As a newly established business with full P&L responsibility, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference by being a key contributor to our division transformation. Driven by a restless business development spirit, the journey will require a leader to steer through a ramp-up and expansion phase while keeping a long-term strategy outlook. You will be fully in charge to refine and drive the vision, mission, and department values to create culture of performance and customer centric thinking. **Your responsibilities**:
- Full responsibility covering procurement, sales, delivery, and after-sales service/ warranty responsibility for small general performance motors.
- Ensuring the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect talents and capabilities. Set
- performance targets and ensure achievement through regular oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed.
- Evaluating market opportunities and deciding appropriate activities in line with the division strategy. Driving profitable business growth in global markets.
- Development and monitoring of quality metrics including identification of opportunities for improvement in suppliers’ execution, and managing improvement activities in cooperation with global functions
- Ensuring diversification of supplier base and competence development
- Developing Supply Chain strategies that guarantee best cost, optimum quality, stable supply, and sustainable suppliers
- Creating commercial contracts (frame contracts or purchase orders) with suppliers, customers and partners. Leading all aspects of supply base management in partnership with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams
- Driving cost out programs and/or processes for a diverse portfolio to reach financial targets. Oversees the SCM aspects of research and selection of suppliers.
- Managing and ensuring the correct logistic process flow of products to achieve targets defined for customers’ service level, customer satisfaction, operational excellence and inventory level.
**Your background**:
- 10 years of experience in industrial business with proven track record in business management/ P&L/ Sales/ Business Development/ Supply Chain.
- Experience in starting-up business/ department/ new revenue stream is a plus
- Previous experience of managing people and ability to deal with cross-functions in various locations globally
- Experience in planning and fulfillment, inventory, and stock management is desirable
- Background in Product Management/ engineering/ R&D is a plus.
- Strong technical domain expertise in IEC and NEMA standard is desirable.
- Strong English communication skills are a must
- Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset with interest to explore new ideas and build strong relationships - excellent networking skills.
- Out-of-the box thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills. Proactively seeks out continuous improvement ideas.
- Ready to travel globally and devote up to 50% of time in global markets.
