The site in Visp, Switzerland is growing and for our Biologics organization, we are currently looking for MSAT BioConjugates Team Leads. Lonza entered the Antibody Drug Conjugate (ADC) market in 2006 and today we produce the majority of commercially available ADCs in our bioconjugation facility in Visp. We are proud of our global bioconjugate team for their dedicated work and commitment to bringing life-saving therapies to cancer patients worldwide.

Lonza has a strong track record in the manufacturing of BioConjugates from early clinical to large scale commercial supplies. Our dedicated Protein Conjugation Plant facility (PCP) is recognized as a center of excellence for Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADC) as well as other classes of BioConjugates. Our supply capacity will be re-enforced by the future opening of new BioConjugation suites in Lonza’s Ibex® facility. In addition, we were recently honored to receive the 2021 World ADC Award in the category Best Contract Manufacturing (CMO) Provider. This award is a testament to our simplified supply chain approach for the production of complex antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) under one roof, making life-saving treatments accessible for patients.

In the position of MSAT Bioconjugates Team Lead, you will make a difference by being leading an MSAT team of MSAT process, and/or single use technology (SUT) experts. In addition, you will be responsible for the successful supervision, support and life cycle management of BioConjugates processes running in Lonza’s facilities in Visp.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead a MSAT team of MSAT process, single use technology (SUT) and/or equipment cleaning experts and coach the team members
- Deliver process know-how, scientific expertise as well as operational excellence with regard to biopharma API production
- Supporting the proposals group for the evaluation of new projects
- Deputize Head of MSAT bioconjugates
- Support of the commercial and clinical re-supply BioConjugates GMP campaigns in our Ibex® and Protein Conjugation Plant (small scale and large scale PCP) facilities
- Plan and supervise MSAT activities on project level to ensure that the processes deliver the required products with the required quality in a safely, timely and in a cost effective manner. In particular, you will be responsible for:

- The preparation and the support of GMP clinical re-supply and commercial campaigns as part of a project team (tech transfer, scale up, GMP documentation, equipment selection, validation activities, APQR (Annual product review) or equipment cleaning concept definition and optimization)
- Leading troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor as needed
- Change control management
- Representing the facility during process specific inspections and audits as SME for area of responsibility

**Key Requirements**:

- Master or PhD (preferred) in Biotechnology, chemical engineering, organic chemistry or related disciplines
- Significant experience in biopharma manufacturing and/or process development, preferably in the area of BioConjugates or DSP (Mammalian or Microbial)
- Experience in team management
- cGMP experience and deep understanding of Bioprocess technology
- Excellent communication skills for interaction within the project organization and with customers
- Fluent in English
- Creative, agile, open-minded
