**Position Summary**
The Scrum master role is a unique team member who spends much of her/his time helping the scrum team communicate, coordinate, and cooperate; this person assists the team in meeting their delivery goals.
In this team, the Scrum master not only assists the team to deliver via effective Agile practices, she/he also ensures, with the Product Owner, that the developments are on-track and participates in the backlog prioritization.
The Scrum master also helps the team coordinate with other teams (Support, Project teams, Service Bureaus,)
We expect that, after a period of training & adaptation, the Scrum master role will take between 60% and 80% of your time, leaving place for you to help the team on non-development tasks (improvements, 3rd party upgrades, QA, environment preparation/maintenance,).
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Exhibit leadership and coaching behaviors (Agile methodology, Scrum framework, high performances)
- Facilitate the team's progress towards the company goals - Help the team focus on daily and sprint goals
- Eliminate impediments - Some blocking issues will be beyond the team's authority or may require support from other teams. The Scrum master actively addresses these issues so that the team can remain focused on achieving the sprint goal
- Lead team efforts into relentless improvement
- Facilitate team meetings and Scrum ceremonies including the daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint review, sprint retrospective and release planning.
- Support the Product Owner in his/her efforts to manage and refine the backlog
- Promote high quality practices - Assist the team in constantly improving the quality of their deliverables and meeting definition of done
- Protect the team from uncontrolled expansion of work
- Ensure good communication between the Scrum team, other development teams, management and stakeholders
- Help facilitate inter-team cooperation
- Help the team understand how to estimate efficiently
- Ensure communication with internal customers (e.g. helpdesk, project management ) regarding priorities, releases and requests for support
- Provide KPIs to management regarding the health and performance of the team
- Synchronize and work with other Scrum masters to participate in global improvements for the Scrum teams
**Experience and Required Skills**
- 3+ years of experience, including
- Project and people management experience using Agile methodology and Scrum/Kanban frameworks
- Experience in a technical role. e.g., Development & maintenance of a software, QA with automation tasks
- Good knowledge of Linux environments
- Fluent in French and English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)
- Leadership and problem-solving skills
- High sense of organization and ability to juggle between several tasks
- Be process-compliant in performing assigned tasks and ensuring quality of project deliverables
- Good tolerance to stressful situations
