Head of Banking Operations

Sygnum’s Banking Operations team is a diverse cross-functional team that provides a wide range of banking operations services to internal and external clients, such as support in client onboarding, tokenization, trade settlement, payments, corporate actions, regulatory reporting, etc.

We are looking for a Head of Banking Operations to join our developing and high impact team in our office in Zurich as soon as possible.

Tasks
- Lead and grow the existing Banking Operations Team of currently 12 people to deliver services in-line with the team’s mission and the bank’s requirements
- Maintain strong relationships with internal team and external stakeholder and represent Banking Operations as SME in projects, new initiatives, and improvements
- Enable the Relationship Managers, Asset Management, and Business Units to perform their functions as best as possible
- Ensure smooth daily business operations and be ready to step in to assist on ad hoc tasks
- Responsible for regulatory reporting (FinFrag, SIX Trade Reporting)
- Escalate outstanding items, and operational risk incidents
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement and risk management of our Financial Services Operations
- Investigate and problem solve client queries
- Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant work experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a people manager
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a position relevant field
- Lead by example and handle certain tasks directly
- Excellent cross functional skillsets from Taxes, CDB, Corporate Actions, to Payments
- Strong understanding of internal control processes, and standard operating procedures
- Proven ability to manage Business Process Outsourcing partners
- Curiosity and passion to help us define and operate Financial Services Operations in the evolving field of digital assets
- Previous experience with Financial Services Operations in a Finnova/ Finnova-like environment is a strong plus
- A positive, forward-thinking personality with having a proactive can-do attitude and a great team player
- Goal and results oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset, able to work independently and under pressure
- Language skills: fluency in English is mandatory, good level of German is advantageous
