We’re looking for a colleague to join the team in the newly established Growth Industries Business Line as a business developer and relationship manager in the ABB Process Industries Division. The role offers the unique and exciting opportunity to be accountable for long-term profitable segment growth of the ABB offerings HCR (High current rectifiers) and PQS (Power Quality solutions) to targeted market segments such as Hydrogen
- and Steel production. Hydrogen Considering global emission targets, ABB will support the customers to shape the future of zero & low-carbon hydrogen production. Together with our partner of large-scale green hydrogen production systems, ABB will heavily contribute to achieve the global emission targets. Strengthening the hydrogen value chain is based on the development of complete renewable energy systems for which ABB can add a lot of value. HCR for Green Steel Steel production accounts for 7% of global carbon emissions (largest single industry emitter). To decarbonize Primary
- steel production processes, steel producers are replacing Blast Furnaces & Basic Oxygen Steelmaking with Electrical Arc Furnaces. ABB HCR will support with complete DC Power supplies (Rectifier systems), power quality solutions and upstream electrification equipment.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Approaching customers to jointly setup market and technology requirements and developing the strategic roadmap together with the core technical development team from HPR Product line and customers/partners
- Understanding the key business drivers of the relevant customer’s businesses (Hydrogen and Steel segments) and business environment and interprets the impact and opportunity for ABB
- Participating to the development of sales strategies for the targeted customer segments and assessing new opportunities (market size and characteristics, recognition of future market trends, segmentation, offering to market and price strategy, understanding competitor’s landscape)
- Identifying partnership opportunities and participating in the definition of partnership agreements and/or joint ventures
- Managing partnership or a portfolio of partnerships and drives synergies between ABB and external partners
- Ensuring continuous communication between ABB and Partners
- Supporting partner/producers to build-up customer and pilot project cases and facilitate the connection to ABB
- Driving proper action plans to bring organization and competences for the Product Line to the right level to serve the hydrogen and steel segment (e.g., sales, product management and research & development and other energy transition-related initiatives within the Process Automation business area)
- Initiating and driving HCR product market communication strategy
- Ensuring (with HR Manager and Product Line Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed
**Your background**:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in High Power Rectifier domain or power electronics
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering, complemented by a further education in Product-, Marketing
- or Business Strategic directions
- Strong background and knowledge of power electronics technologies and experience within industries such as Chemical / Hydrogen, Aluminium, Steel, Electrowinning, Zinc or Graphite
- Exceptional communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a pro-active professional, “can-do” attitude
- Fluency in English is a must, any additional language is an asset
- Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, Sales Force tools
- Willingness to travel at least 20-40% globally
