Director/sr. Director; Global Value, Access
Vor 2 Tagen
General Description:
The position will report directly to the Executive Director (ED), Global Value, Access & Pricing (GVAP) Lead, Hematology, and will be responsible for developing GVAP strategies across the Hematology portfolio for assets as assigned by the ED, GVAP, Lead, Hematology.
This role may have responsibilities for pipeline or inline assets. For the purposes of this role, a “pipeline asset” is any internally developed or externally acquired or licensed asset for which no Company Leadership endorsement for making the first major regulatory filing has occurred. Under the above definition, an asset will remain a “pipeline asset” until approximately 9-12 months before the first regulatory filing. Once an asset makes that transition, it is considered “inline”, meaning future indications or line extensions fall within the scope of “inline”. The ED, GVAP, Lead Hematology, reserves the right to amend, modify, or reassign duties and responsibilities as necessary to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
With regard to any assigned “pipeline” related duties, the Director, GVAP, Hematology provides critical strategic insights and guidance to ensure pipeline assets meet future market access needs and maximize commercial potential. The person in this position will focus on identifying market access-related evidentiary gaps in clinical development plans that could result in a breadth of reimbursement inconsistent with planned labelled population(s) and/or pricing that does not sustainably support the business. The person in this role will work cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders to develop recommendations to close those gaps and/or for evidence generation that, if implemented, would result in optimizing reimbursement and pricing potential. The person in this role must be capable of estimating the impact of different clinical development scenarios on access and price potential. The person in this role will confer with the ED, GVAP, Lead Hematology, to determine how and when to disseminate GVAP analysis and recommendations. Furthermore, the position may also support portfolio prioritization exercises.
With regard to any assigned “inline” related duties, the Director, GVAP, Hematology, drives value demonstration and access preparation activities, ensuring comprehensive market access, pricing, and value strategies for each product, line extension or combination in close collaboration with the GVAP Pricing, Regional Access Leads and / or direct countries and HEOR team. For any asset covered by this role that is launching in its first indication, this role is critical in developing the overarching GVAP strategy throughout the asset’s lifecycle that optimizes Company opportunity whilst balancing against Company vision / mission regarding patient access and affordability. The role also leads the development of the P&R operational foundation (e.g., value messaging, launch readiness toolkits, pricing guidance, indication prioritization), upon which affiliate organizations will build local P&R execution and delivery plans. The individual will be the primary contact for all Access related needs raised by Regional and Country Access Teams. The Director ensures that the GVAP function consistently communicates franchise access, value, and reimbursement perspectives to drive and align commercial strategy development across all Regions and territories where the Company operates.
Regardless of “pipeline” or “inline” focus, this person in this role is critical in driving P&R success for the Company’s hematology portfolio and must leverage market access expertise and a deep understanding of the evolving needs of global payers.
Essential Functions of the job:
Pipeline Market Access Strategy Development:
- Lead the creation and implementation of global market access strategies for hematology pipeline products (typically but not exclusively Phase II and III assets), aligning with clinical and commercial goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate access requirements into the development process, influencing trial design, endpoints, and evidence generation to meet payer needs.
- Lead the collection and aggregation of feedback from all regions in which the Company operates, and developing recommendations regarding clinical development and other evidence generation based on that feedback.
- At the discretion of the ED, GVAP Hematology, represent the GVAP Hematology perspective (aligned with Regions and/or focus markets and HEOR) to one or more governance or oversight bodies of the Company (e.g., GPT, GBT)
Value Proposition & Evidence Generation:
- Develop early value propositions that resonate with global payers and support future pricing, reimbursement, and access decisions.
- Work closely with Clinical, Medical Affairs, and Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) teams to shape clinical trial design and evidence-generation strategies that align with target market access requirements.
