Head of Medical Affairs Operations

Novavax is seeking a Head of Medical Affairs Operations & Excellence Europe. In this role, the primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful execution of medical projects in Europe, including comprehensive planning, tracking, development, and execution of activities within specified timelines and budgetary constraints. This will involve closely aligning with the medical plan, advisory boards, consultancies, steering committees, scientific workshops, scientific meetings, grants, collaborative projects, and other relevant formats.
Additionally, this position will provide essential support for localizing global content utilized by external-facing medical teams and external experts. Furthermore, the role will actively contribute to the generation of valuable insights by analyzing feedback received from external & internal stakeholders and implementing an effective insights framework. Additionally, the position will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of internal medical projects, as well as organizing internal and external meetings (e.g., whiteboards, leadership meetings, external expert meetings), and facilitating training sessions.
A key aspect of this position is fostering close collaboration with members of the European Medical Team, while also maintaining frequent communication and coordination with global medical teams and European commercial, legal, governmental affairs, and communication teams.
**Additional Responsibilities**:
- Accountable for acquiring/maintaining an optimal level of knowledge about the tools and systems used (e.g., Veeva).
- Fully understand and comply with Novavax standards and policies and with local codes of practice, guidelines, laws to ensure the strictest requirements are met.
- Foster a collaborative working relationship with governance, legal, compliance and commercial colleagues to ensure that the delivered projects are meeting the legal & company requirements and are aligned to the business expectations.
- Maintain a basic knowledge in the evolving scientific / therapeutic areas (COVID, influenza).
- Provide support in logistic processes and digital journeys for medical activities, such as advisory board, 1 to 1 consultancy, medical meeting, grant, internal medical meeting.
**Qualifications**:
- Master’s degree or equivalent, Pharmacy / Medicine / Life Sciences.
- At least 5 years of applicable experience within clinical/health care, pharmaceutical industry, Vaccines project management or related field. Experience in Europe and experience in the vaccines field is highly desirable.
- Possesses advanced/expert level of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word & Outlook),
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with good attention to detail.
- Excellent team working abilities and effective influencing skills.
- Ability to find innovative solutions to complex problems and involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Good time management skills with the ability to effectively plan, priorities and co-ordinate multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities to deliver results to tight deadlines.
