**Job Description**:
Are you a passionate and driven person to plan and implement key activities hosted in CERN’s Innovation Space?

Within the framework of EU-funded ATTRACT project, the position will be responsible for the delivery and execution of student program activities including planning and organizing the Challenge Based Innovation (CBI) program in collaboration with multiple different university partners across the globe, provide mentorship for student teams using Design thinking to create, prototype and test new product and service ideas, and work as an integral part of a small team running the innovation lab, IdeaSquare at CERN.

You will:

- Work with the IdeaSquare team to curate high quality event experiences that foster a growing open innovation community at CERN. Key events include Challenge Based Innovation site visits, ATTRACT workshops for students, regular community events, final Gala’s and Demo Day’s for showcasing results;
- Support all student program activities, including curriculum development, programming, mentorship, obtaining new and maintaining the existing mentor, technical and administrative contacts at CERN;
- Collaborate with CERN’s Knowledge Transfer group, Design Factory Global Network member institutions and Challenge Based Innovation partnership universities in planning student innovation activities, operations, events, and mentorship to ensure high program quality, as well as effective and efficient delivery;
- Develop and organize executive education type activities for leading MBA programs and other interested parties;
- Host external events and innovation lab tours, as well as visits to CERN’s open exhibitions for IdeaSquare visitors.

**Qualifications**:
Eligibility criteria:

- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State;
- You have a Master’s degree and between 2 and 6 years’ experience or PhD with up to 3 years of relevant experience in engineering, business management, education or other related field;
- You should have a working knowledge of English or French.

Skills and/or knowledge:

- Use of Design Thinking in developing new products and services. Teaching and coaching design thinking teams would be an advantage;
- Work in highly technical research infrastructure environments;
- Development of new ways in which technological innovations could be utilized in creating societal value;
- Ability in taking initiative, showing work ethic; ability to prioritize and independently execute tasks and produce required results;
- Skills in communication and in networking skills; emotional intelligence, demonstrated sound judgment;
- Organizational and project management skills;
- Familiar with EU-funded projects and Design Thinking student programmes;
- Familiar to UN Sustainable Development Goals, and in how to contribute to them in practice.

Additional Information
**What we offer**:

- An employment contract of in principle 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months;
- On-the-job and formal training at CERN as well as in-house language courses for English and/or French;
- A monthly stipend ranging between 6050 and 6650 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax);
- Coverage by CERN’s comprehensive health scheme (for yourself, your spouse and children), and membership of the CERN Pension Fund;
- Depending on your individual circumstances: installation grant; family, child and infant allowances; payment of travel expenses at the beginning and end of contract;
- 30 days of paid leave per year.
