THE ROLE

At Zattoo we are building the TV platform of the future. We are looking for a Team Lead Network and Infrastructure (f/m/x) to join our growing Operations team. We control the whole IPTV chain from satellite and Multicast ingest through hosting hundreds of servers, petabyte-scale storage and Tbps-scale streaming over our own network and CDN. There are many exciting areas to work on and to push TV to a new level.

As a Team Lead Network and Infrastructure, you should be passionate about all areas of data center infrastructure and networking. You will be a leader within a dynamic team of experts in support of the company’s streaming services. Together with your team, you will be responsible to operate, maintain and develop our Server and Network Infrastructure, as well as conduct projects to extend capacity and connectivity. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone to gain exposure to state-of-the-art technologies as well as establish themselves in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring a stable operation of our services, scaling our infrastructure and optimizing our network.

Last but not least, you can play a key role in helping to transition our services to carbon-neutrality and allow us to fully live up to our core value of Sustainability, by identifying CO2 emitters and finding alternative solutions in hosting, powering and distribution.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead a team of currently 3 people with different specializations (Network Engineering, Sys Admin, Data Center Expert)
- Design, configure, test, and maintain our network and security equipment and related services
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolve networking problems as they arise
- Work with the SRE, Video and Dev teams to define and document network standards and architecture
- Daily maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration
- Operation, maintenance and renewal of the entire high-availability data center infrastructure
- Planning the optimization and expansion of the datacenters
- Participate in on-call rotation
- Emergency work during incidents as part of a well established on duty process

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 5+ years working in Internet-related fields, and an advanced understanding of TCP/IP
- Juniper or Cisco IOS-XR expertise
- Linux experience
- Experience in selecting, testing, and deploying networking hardware and software
- Expert level knowledge in large-scale IP networking technologies and protocols such as MP-BGP, OSPF, VLAN, QoS
- Working experience of the following: IP Multicast, STP, LACP, Packet capturing tools, TCP/IP and IPv6
- Knowledgeable in network engineering procedures, best practices, and implementation of network documentation and diagramming
- Experience with multicast configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience with network automation tools and scripting are highly desired
- Ability to efficiently resolve network issues with varying degrees of complexity
- Working knowledge of common network monitoring and security utilities
- Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize projects according to organizational direction
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate with multiple teams

**Bonus**:

- Extensive experience with Data Center operations
- In-depth understanding of CDN concepts
- Understanding of SDN concepts
- Experience in either the media or web-scale sectors
- Experience in multi-vendor network topologies
- A propensity to experiment with emerging technologies
- Interest in or experience with sustainable data center operation
