**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
We are currently looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Intern to join IMPACT’s global Research Team in Geneva, Switzerland.

**INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES**:

- Develop capacity in monitoring, evaluation and learning, with a specific focus on research-related MEL practices;
- Gain practical experience with quantitative and qualitative data processing and analysis, as well as good practices in analytical writing and data visualisation;
- Build understanding of key challenges and related learning needs vis-à-vis research implementation within the humanitarian and international development sector;
- Gain exposure to primary research in fragile and conflict settings, including research design, data processing and analysis, reporting of research findings and monitoring and evaluation.

**TASKS**:
The MEL intern shall:

- Support with the annual M&E review process to better understand the impact of IMPACT’s work in 2024, including
- Compiling and analysing M&E data from different sources (partner feedback surveys, country-level M&E data, download analytics, etc.);
- Identifying key messages, drafting a visual and user-friendly summary product and supporting with dissemination of findings;
- Contribute to the capitalization of best practices and lessons learned for increased research quality within IMPACT by
- Updating the global research lessons learned database with the latest research-related lessons learned received;
- Conducting an analysis of main types of lessons learned implementing primary research to identify capacity-sharing needs;
- Drafting key findings and supporting with dissemination of findings;
- Participate in and contribute to meetings, including taking minutes;
- Support the Sr. Research Manager - MEL with other relevant tasks, as required.

**REQUIREMEMNTS**:
**Required**
- Good academic qualifications, including a Bachelor or Master’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g. Social Sciences, Economics, Anthropology, Statistics, Assessment, Monitoring & Evaluation, International Relations, Political Sciences, or similar)
- Strong motivation and interest in improving research in the humanitarian and development sector
- Good working knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Fluency in oral and written English
- Openness to feedback and willingness to learn
- Ability to manage time effectively and to thrive in a fast paced, results-oriented environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work
- Ability to work independently, with initiative, and strong capacity to work in intercultural team

**Desired**
- Fluency in French and/ or Spanish
- Familiarity with the humanitarian aid system
- Good understanding of research methods within the field of social sciences (quantitative and qualitative)
- Volunteering experience related to international solidarity, either at home or abroad
- Experience with M&E or primary research, especially in an international context

**CONDITIONS**:

- For this position, gross salary is 1,450 CHF monthly (before income tax). NB - IMPACT salaries are strictly determined by our salary grid depending on the grade of the position and the level of education and experience of staff. A contribution to medical insurance of 520 CHF per month is already included in the salary figure.

- Enrolment in IMPACT Initiatives Research Foundational Learning Programme within the first 3 months from the start of contract.
- Applicants must hold a valid work permit for Switzerland or be EU/EFTA citizens
- Up to 40% of remote work on a weekly basis
