Chief of Staff

**Job Purpose**:
The The Chief of Staff - Clinical Development serves as the primary strategic partner and advisor to the CSO and other members of the Executive Board if needed (CEO and CFO). Their mission is to optimize operational efficiency, drive strategic decision-making and implementation of organizational goals and initiatives in the Clinical Development area and its departments (Regulatory Affairs, Medical, Clinical Ops, Biometrics, Bioanalysis, Research & Medical Affairs).

**Key responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with the CSO to develop and execute strategic plans, initiatives, and objectives for the Clinical Development area.
- Monitor progress towards goals, identify areas for improvement, and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure organizational priorities are met.
- Acting on behalf of the CSO answer inquiries.
- Cultivate strong relationships internally and externally if needed and act as a liaison between the CSO and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations, governance documents and reports for key meetings and events.
- Oversees the global Integrated Clinical Development Program/Plan.
- Build the operational plan and budget and prepares regular forecast updates and status reports.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the department heads.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Lead or support key strategic projects and initiatives as assigned by the CSO.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and successful outcomes, evaluating risk factors when making critical business decision.

**Your profile**:
**Education**:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management or Science; MD degree is a plus; PhD and/or MBA is a plus.
**Experience**:

- 10+ years of experience in Consultancy, Pharmaceutical, Biotech industry or other relevant areas.
- Proven experience, preferably as a Chief of Staff or other senior leadership roles.
- Understanding and/or experience of working within/with several functional areas in Clinical Development such as clinical, preclinical, CMC or regulatory affairs (desirable).

**Skills/knowledge/behavioural competencies**:

- Clinical and disease knowledge base in dermatology and rheumatology;
- Experience in scientific and clinical data review and interpretation;
- Familiarity with global regulatory organisation, guidelines, and practices;
- History of solving problems while exhibiting sound scientific/medical judgement and a balanced, realistic understanding of issues;
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiating communication skills;
- Organised, attention to detail and ability to meet timelines in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritise workload.

**Work Location**:

- 2 days a week in our office in Zug, Cambridge or Porto
