Our research group studies epigenetic regulators in blood and patient-derived cancer tissue, focusing on Lung and Head and Neck cancers. We have ongoing clinical trials in which we are identifying new epigenetic biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and treatment.
In addition, we are aiming to find new approaches in cancer treatment by manipulating epigenetic regulators in vitro (cell cultures and patient-derived organoids). Our research group consists of clinicians, molecular biologists and data scientists. The position offers broad insight into translational cancer research.
The challenge
We have an open position for a highly motivated PhD student in our lab. The PhD position involves the following projects: 1) study of DNA methylation patterns in head and neck cancer tissues 2) analysis of circulating DNA in blood samples of cancer patients 3) in vitro cell culture (cell lines and organoids).
