**What you’ll do**

Are you excited about scientific innovation and would like to provide statistical advice and insights to our animal and human nutrition projects? Then our position as Biostatistician / Data Scientist might be the right next step for you We are looking for a bright, motivated colleague to join our statistics and data team.
The primary location of the position is in Kaiseraugst near Basel, Switzerland, but alternative locations in Europe can also be considered, e.g. the Netherlands, Austria or the UK.

**Key areas of responsibility**
- Support our multidisciplinary project teams with your statistical expertise and insights, in order to optimize decision-making and to influence strategy in all development phases of our nutritional products
- Provide data analysis, meta-analysis across randomized studies, visualization, reporting and interpretation for a wide variety of research questions in nutrition and health, using mainly data from randomized controlled trials, but also various sources of observational data
- Optimize the study design and statistical power of feeding studies in farm animals and of clinical studies in humans to obtain scientifically sound results
- Monitor outsourcing of statistical analyses to partner organizations and ensure compliance with official statistical guidelines where applicable
- Work closely and in a result-oriented way with study directors, project managers, data managers, nutritionists, external study sites, regulatory affairs, marketing and customers, either as a project team member or as an ad-hoc consultant
- Help data managers and animal nutritionists to check study data that are uploaded to our CDISC study database, as preparation for meta-analysis
- Participate in our digital transformation strategy and optimize how we organize and leverage data in order to tailor our products for customers and consumers
- Participate in collaborations on a global basis (universities, research institutes, customers, CROs, NGOs, etc.)

**You bring**
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Life Science or in a related field, with a few years of work experience in statistics; a PhD will be considered as work experience
- Sound knowledge of standard statistical methods, particularly regression and extensions (GLMM)
- Experience with R is essential; experience with Python and data science stack would be highly desirable
- Experience with any of the following is an advantage: clinical studies, CDISC standard, data management, sequencing or other -omics data, design of experiments, databases (SQL), cloud-computing platforms such as AWS, Docker, data workflows (Airflow) and Git
- Ability to act as contact for stakeholders and be curious about the goals and the context of projects, take responsibility and proactively contribute to their success
- Comfortable working with a broad variety of projects, questions and stakeholders, and experience in handling competing priorities
- Strong team-player with the ability to communicate effectively with non-statisticians thriving in an open, global and diverse research environment
- Fluency in English
