Assisting the business function and/or Business Excellence Centers, as a Trade & Transportation Manager you will develop and manage local business line (LBL) logistics operations, leading a team to effectively control inbound and outbound shipping of products, systems and services to customers.

**This position reports to**:
Project Operations Manager

**Your responsibilities**:

- Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies, for the benefit of both ABB and the employee.
- Identify and implement new processes and tools to plan transport operations; select appropriate transport mode(s) and routes to minimize costs whilst meeting service requirements.
- Deliver on budget and ensure the T&L performance targets are achieved.
- Identify and contract logistics service providers. Optimize costs and services and ensure enough qualified suppliers are available to cover the scope and requirements.
- Ensure adherence to Trade Compliance including all local and global regulations, whilst optimizing the distribution network and customs procedures.
- Work with Sales to implement cost reduction initiatives and influence Sales as to ensure most appropriate international commercial terms (incoterms) are chosen. Ensure availability of project transport cost estimates at project tender stage.

**Your background**:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in Trade & Logistics / Shipping field, working as Trade & Transport Specialist with international import / export of project goods in the Industrial sector
- Sound knowledge of Export Control and Trade Compliance methodologies and the international logistics market
- Knowledge of SAP at advanced user level
- A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
- A University bachelor’s degree as a minimum in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or equivalent degree in business administration or engineering
- Fluent language level in German and English. Spanish language is an added asset
