(Associate) Director of Biologics Discovery

**Ridgeline Discovery is looking for an (Associate) Director of Biologics Discovery.** **Ridgeline Discovery**, a Versant Ventures Discovery Engine, creates and operates Versant-financed innovative biotech companies in partnership with entrepreneurs, industry, and leading academics across Europe. In recent years, Ridgeline has assembled an international team of \ >45 highly experienced drug discovery professionals and built and operated several new successful companies, including Black Diamond Therapeutics (NASDAQ: BDTX), Bright Peak Therapeutics and Monte Rosa Therapeutics (NASDAQ: GLUE). Ridgeline is currently expanding its capabilities in Basel to support further company creation efforts in small molecules, biologics, and gene/cell therapy with focus on oncology and immunology. The **(Associate) Director of Biologics Discovery** will further strengthen our team by contributing to the development of new biotech companies. You will help increase the biological understanding of programs as well as developing the strategy required to help propel our companies forward. **RESPONSIBILITIES** - Managing CROs and internal research programs - Working with founders to build companies and recruit top talent - Identifying and building novel assays - Managing a matrixed team - Assessing the landscape for new opportunities that could be prosecuted by Ridgeline - Expertise in antibody and other protein-based therapeutics - Protein engineering in general with focus on bi-/multispecific formats - Novel target/technology identification - Communicating with founders, board members, and Ridgeline leadership team **QUALIFICATIONS** - PhD in biotechnology, biochemistry, biology, pharmacology, or a related field - 6+ years’ experience in biotech or industry - Proven track record of drug discovery experience - Project Leader experience - Experience in working with antibody/large molecule identification technologies - Experience in protein engineering including but not limited to linker, building block and scaffold design of bi-/multispecific therapeutic formats - Experience in running routine assays for development of a therapeutic - Experience working with primary (immune) cells is a plus - Know-how in design and evaluation proper experimental design and ability to work independently - Able to work in a highly flexible environment - Good knowledge of English (spoken and written) **WHAT WE CURRENTLY OFFER** - **Offices**: Our well-equipped laboratories and offices are located at the Technologiepark, a premier address for early-stage start-ups in Basel. - **Commuter Benefits**: We support our employees tailored to their personal needs in commuting to work and offer parking facilities or a commuter contribution. - **Flexible Working**: We support flexible working as appropriate. - **Christmas Closure**: In addition to the 24 holidays per year, our offices/labs are closed between Christmas and New Year. - **Birthday Retreat**: On top of that, your birthday is your personal holiday - our employees enjoy their birthday with a day off. - **Food**: We like get-togethers during lunch time.
