**DWS Corporate Strategy and M&A**
The Corporate Strategy and M&A team supports the management team, business units and regional divisions of DWS in setting and executing the strategic agenda for the business as well as overseeing and executing key transaction activity. Its key responsibilities include:
**Strategy**: Working with the DWS leadership team (usually the Executive Board) and the individual business units and regional divisions to develop successful strategies to achieve the goals of each business unit, create long-term plans and review progress against our objectives.
**Business Development**: Evaluate growth and business development opportunities in all business units and regions.
**Business Solutions**:Help implement strategy with cross-functional organization, seize new opportunities and overcome challenges with a team of professional project managers.
**Mergers and Acquisitions**:Oversee all inorganic activity, including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, strategic partnerships, and other key corporate activities.
The Strategy team is set-up directly in the area of the Chief Executive Officer of DWS.
**Main Tasks**
**- **Lead team tasked with developing and executing all M&A activity within the region, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and other M&A activity, working closely with the Head of EMEA Strategy and key regional stakeholders
- Coordinate major M&A projects working closely with the Global Head of Strategy and M&A as well as senior business leaders
- Monitor existing portfolio of investments, joint ventures, and other collaborations to ensure continued success of the financial and strategic investment case
- Explore and grow existing and new strategic partnerships, including the negotiation of key agreements with external parties in conjunction with other DWS stakeholders
- Prepare and present decision papers for the key governance bodies, including the DWS Strategic Investment Committee, the Executive Board and other forums on key projects
**Professional and personal requirements**:
- 10 years of experience
- Professional experience in investment banking/M&A, corporate strategy, asset management or related field
- Significant transaction experience, strong corporate finance background including valuation models, and demonstrated ability to drive deals from ideation to execution and integration
- Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity around the key trends driving the asset management industry
- Knowledge of project work and experience in the preparation of decision papers
- Highly driven and motivated individual with a proven ability to execute complex projects
- Strong teamwork and collaboration/communication skills in English (German fluency preferred)
- Professional handling of common MS-Office programs (Word, Excel and especially PowerPoint)
- University degree (business management, economics or scientific background preferred), Master’s degree, MBA or doctorate preferred
- Quick comprehension, high solution competence and willingness to work closely on projects in order to drive implementation
