We work across the enterprise to deliver excellence in pricing strategy and execution, the development and implementation of integrated access strategies, shaping of the external access landscape and through innovation in patient access models and solutions. We work collaboratively across the enterprise and with regional and local market teams to drive sustainable patient access.

The growing fiscal challenges faced by payors around the world, the changing nature of our future portfolio and our bold ambition to expand the reach of our medicines and vaccines around the world has increased the need to explore practical innovations in access models that enable us to advance win-win-win collaborations with payors & providers to expand access that ultimately delivers long term value for patients, for society and for the company. This is in line with the core mission of Global Market Access to expand access to medicines and vaccines to people around the world at a price that reflects its value.

We are currently seeking an Associate Vice President, Leader, Sustainable Access Solutions (SAS) reporting directly to the Senior Vice President & Head of Global Market Access (GMAx). The role will lead a team of around 20 overseeing the design, development and implementation of a range of novel access capabilities to support Global, Regional and Country leaders in prioritized countries around the world (including the US). A strong element in the role is leading a highly empowered and technically strong team to shape and oversee key strategic capabilities for the company that are being leveraged by many countries to deliver tangible and scalable impact often in ambiguous situations.

- This role is a critical and strategic leadership role within GMAx and the company more broadly. It is tasked with leading our efforts to accelerate commercially sustainable & equitable access models and solutions that expand the reach of our medicines and vaccines around the globe today and over the next 10 years.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
Internally, the leader will:

- Be a member of the GMAx LT, providing strategic leadership and direction to the wider Market Access Organisation and have explicit accountability for ensuring the company’s access related priorities are well defined and successfully achieved.
- Actively work with all Global Franchise teams to shape, propose and establish strategic capabilities needed to consistently expand access and take full accountability for end-to-end development and deployment of these capabilities across the world.
- Listen to country challenges and needs to guide prioritization and focus whilst bringing strategic thinking and expert capabilities to support markets to achieve their long-term aspirations. The leader and the function they lead will also be accountable for developing best in class capabilities in innovative access solutions in teams across the company - creating a true learning culture in access solutions.
- Actively work in partnership with a range of functions including Global Public Policy Global Medical and Scientific Affairs (GMSA), Center for Observational Research and Evaluation (CORE), Social Business Innovation (SBI), Strategic Communications.

Externally, the leader will:

- Work with a range of external partners to solve accessibility and affordability problems in healthcare. These include large multi-national companies as well as small vendors, solving challenges from improving health system productivity, through to insurance, Out-of-pocket platforms & contracting.
- Represent the company on key external platforms and be responsible for informing the external position of the company around access solutions and innovation in access
- Participate in external platforms & forums focused on new funding models to support accessibility and affordability of medicines
- The role will also be accountable for recommending the access to health metrics for the company and robust and comprehensive plans are in place for achieving these consistently, working with and on behalf of the Human Health Leadership Team.
