**Purpose of the role**
Within our Finance function, in Geneva, we are looking for an IFRS Accountant to help us elevate our Financial Reporting to new levels. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you can be a strategic addition to our team to build a financial department and support the hyper-growth of Proton.
This role involves leading and managing the entire transition process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address challenges, and implementing strategies to guarantee a smooth and successful transition. The IFRS Specialist Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards. Additionally, the role involves active participation in audit coordination, ensuring compliance during and after the transition period.
Beyond transition-related responsibilities, the IFRS Specialist Accountant will contribute to ongoing financial reporting, providing insights on IFRS implications and supporting the timely submission of accurate financial reports to stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
The role also includes identifying opportunities for process improvement related to IFRS reporting, implementing best practices, and conducting training sessions for current internal teams to ensure a deep understanding of IFRS requirements and updates.
In summary, the IFRS Specialist Accountant will be a key player in steering Proton through this significant financial transition, ensuring not only compliance with IFRS but also contributing to the enhancement of financial reporting processes and the organization's overall financial health. The role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across various teams within the organization.
**What you will do**
**IFRS transition**:
- Lead and manage the transition process from Swiss Accounting Rules to IFRS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and successful transition.
- Develop and implement strategies to address challenges and ensure compliance with IFRS during the transition.
**IFRS compliance**:
- Stay abreast of the latest updates and changes in IFRS regulations and guidelines.
- Interpret and implement IFRS standards to ensure accurate financial reporting during and after the transition.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with IFRS requirements.
**Financial Reporting**:
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management on IFRS implications.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to regulatory authorities.
**Audit coordination**:
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate smooth and efficient local and consolidated audits.
- Address audit queries and provide necessary documentation to support IFRS compliance.
**Process Improvement**:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement related to IFRS reporting.
- Implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes.
- Internal Control System design, implementation, and evaluation.
**Training and Communication**:
- Conduct training sessions for internal teams on IFRS requirements and updates, emphasizing the changes during the transition.
- Communicate changes in IFRS standards and their impact on the organization, particularly during the transition period.
**Job requirements**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA is highly desirable.
- Very good IFRS knowledge, strong technical skills, ability to research IFRS technical issues and recognized risk management ability
- At least 4 years of relevant working experience in an IFRS department at a large accounting firm or as an IFRS accountant at an established firm.
