Laboratory Technician

**SERAC Biosciences AG is looking for a Laboratory Technician (50-100%).** Ridgeline Discovery, a Versant Ventures Discovery Engine, creates and operates Versant-financed innovative biotech companies in partnership with entrepreneurs, industry, and leading academics across Europe. In recent years, Ridgeline has assembled an international team of >50 highly experienced drug discovery and industry professionals and built and operated multiple new successful companies; these companies have raised significant funds through Series B, IPO and an exit through a trade sale. For our portfolio company SERAC Biosciences AG, we are looking for a highly motivated Laboratory Technician with experience in peptide chemistry to support both peptide synthesis / purification activities as well as general chemistry / biology laboratory management tasks such as ordering, documentation, review and establishment of procedures She/he will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player with first laboratory experience, strong organizational skills and a good team player. This Basel based position offers a tremendous opportunity to support SERAC Biosciences AG in a vibrant and agile biotech environment. This open position is **initially for a 12-month temporary contract / fixed-term employment agreement.** **RESPONSIBILITIES** - Assist scientists in the preparation, handling, and analysis of peptides and related chemical/biological materials. - Support day-to-day laboratory operations, including maintaining an organized and efficient work environment. - Handle the procurement processes using Precoro, including preparing purchase requests, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of lab materials. - Maintain accurate records of lab activities and procurement documentation. - Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards within the lab environment. - Collaborate closely with research staff to facilitate ongoing projects. - Ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines (SOPs, HSE), coordinating lab space organization and facilities management. **WHO YOU ARE** - A completed apprenticeship as a chemical technician (Chemikant) or laboratory technician (Chemielaborant). A university degree is not necessary for this position. - Basic laboratory experience, ideally with exposure to peptide synthesis, purification, or analysis (not mandatory but a strong plus). - Practical experience in handling chemicals, including proper storage and safe usage. - Pronounced independence, drive, initiative and ability to work in a team combined with strong organizational skills and attention to details. Proficient with procurement systems (Precoro or similar) and stock management activities are an advantage. - Good communication skills including presentation and scientific / technical writing. Fluent English is essential for this role.
