Technology: In close collaboration with the IOC Games and Sport Departments, IOC Technology Partners, IOC Television and Marketing Services (TMS) and Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), you will assist your line manager in supporting, assisting, assuring and enabling the Organising Committee’s Technology function to stage successful Games, while limiting risks and controlling costs.
Energy: In close collaboration with Host City agencies, Organising Committee Energy Function and key stakeholders, you will assist your line manager in enabling the delivery of secure, sustainable and reliable energy services, while limiting risks and controlling costs.
IOC Administration: You will play an active part in the development of Games Technology and Energy strategic planning, enabling the IOC to achieve its global strategic objectives
**Main responsibilities**
Assist your line manager with the responsibilities listed below (with the ability to substitute the line manager when absent). This role will primarily focuson the Youth Olympic Games editions, but also support, as needed, specific tasks/project on the Summer & Winter Olympic Games, as well as other Olympic series editions.
- In cooperation with the IOC Olympic Games Department, define standard processes (best practice) related to planning, delivery and operations, as they evolve between Games editions;
- Support drafting of IOC Games technology tenders and contracts; participate in contracts negotiations;
- Follow the execution of IOC Games technology contracts, play the role of facilitator between IOC providers and Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committees (YOGOC), Olympic Games or other Games series or types;
- Support the local organising committees (LOC) in the process of securing critical technology and energy contracts;
- Advise and support local organising committees (LOC) in limiting costs associated with Games planning, delivery and operations;
- Maintain the IOC Master Schedule, Service Models, learning pathways and other central IOC processes or tools with regards to technology & energy;
- Ensure timelines are respected in relation to delivery and installations of technology and energy solutions and operations;
- Prepare and manage delivery of Technology Project Reviews, Energy Reviews, or other ad-hoc workshops in cooperation with local organising committees (LOC) representatives and IOC advisors (as required), on site in the Host City. Ensure appropriate reporting and follow up from all progress meetings;
- Facilitate local organising committees (LOC) Technology and Energy participation in Venue Integration Group (VIG) process, in cooperation with IOC Games Department Venues Function and OBS, including necessary site visits, risk assessment and VIG reporting;
- Support preparation and delivery of reports to IOC Coordination Commission, Executive Board Meetings and IOC Sessions;
- Support IOC technology and energy operations on-site during delivery and operational periods, in full collaboration with IOC Games Coordination, relevant local organising committees (LOC) Technology and Energy management and solution providers;
- Participate actively in transfer of knowledge (TOK) initiatives and projects concerning technology & energy, in the framework defined by the IOC;
- Plan work and manage advisor workloads and missions in relation to work with Organising Committees and specific internal projects;
- Other duties as assigned and required.
**Our requirements**
- University studies and higher education in technical and/or management discipline, with relevant professional experience;
- 3 - 5 years of experience in managing complex projects or programmes related to major multi-disciplined sport events;
- Competent use of common office automation software;
- Excellent command of English, spoken and written; additional languages are a plus.
- A successful track record in project planning and delivery of technology and energy services for major events;
- Ability to engage with, and lead if necessary, technical discussions around technology and energy solutions for major events;
- Ability to establish a realistic, clear and efficient course of action, to achieve individual or joint objectives;
- Ability to produce qualitatively and quantitatively high results by adopting a pragmatic and effective approach;
- Ability to reach an agreement through mutual concessions when faced with competing interests between several interlocutors;
- Ability to express orally and in writing ideas or facts clearly and credibly with the aim of convincing and influencing all types of interlocutor;
- Ability to remain focused on the words of his/her interlocutor so as to identify the important information in oral communication;
