The Forum's Health & Healthcare platform helps identify and scale up solutions for more resilient, efficient, and equitable healthcare systems to deliver the best possible care and keep global populations healthy. Our Health and Healthcare community brings together leaders from the world’s top healthcare providers, insurers, biopharma, MedTech and relevant sectors to engage in key global issues with other stakeholders, including government leaders, CEOs and senior executives from adjacent industries, heads of international organizations, academics, experts, thought leaders and representatives from civil society.
The Head of the Healthcare Industry will be responsible for identifying industry priorities, defining and implementing the industry agenda for healthcare partners engaged with the Forum. Reporting to the Head of the Shaping the Future of Health and Healthcare, the Head of Healthcare Industry will develop the portfolio of activities to provide value to Partner companies. This portfolio will range opportunities across geographies and themes, including across the continuum of care - from prevention to diagnosis, treatment, cure and maintenance of health - to enable people to lead healthier lives and access the care they need to fulfil their potential.
Reporting lines & interactions
The Head of Health and Healthcare Industry will report to the Head of the Shaping the Future of Health and Healthcare and will have people management responsibilities.
Breakdown of main responsibilities- 50% Industry interaction (external and internal stakeholders)- 30% Community curation- 20% Events planning and logistics
Location: Geneva and/or New York- Understand, map and monitor the overall industry ecosystem, including trends, critical business issues, stakeholders and external influences- Provide insights and thought leadership on strategy, structure and policies related to the healthcare industry- Interact with CEOs and senior executives, academics and government officials to deliver insight, shape the industry agenda and ultimately provide measurable impact in advancing the global healthcare industry- Collaborate with the Head of the Shaping the Future of Health and Healthcare and the Head of Health & Healthcare Initiatives to develop world-class content designed to advance key issues and opportunities facing the industry- Partner with the Forum’s Partners Development team to grow the community and support the team in its execution, delivering on growth targets set for the industry; support the creation of customized value propositions for potential members- Create the strategic vision for how the Forum's Health and Healthcare platform can deliver value to senior executives from the healthcare community by working with colleagues on other teams who also manage healthcare sector Partners- Lead event planning for relevant Forum meetings and regional events, as well as external workshops and partner meetings- Support the curation of initiatives that strengthen the health and healthcare value proposition
Preferred requirements and experience- Strong academic background, including a master’s degree in healthcare business management, healthcare economics or a related discipline- 15+ years of professional experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in an international context- Outstanding communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English- Experience in consulting firms servicing healthcare industry clients with a particular focus on broad strategic issues affecting the healthcare industry is a plus- Comfortable communicating with senior leaders across the public and private sectors, CEOs, government leaders, and regulatory bodies, strong public speaking skills, ability to influence at all levels and have a strong network of contacts- Excellent strategic acumen combined with the ability to work in a dynamic and demanding environment- Proven agility, with a strong orientation for driving growth through innovative thinking- Ability to build strong internal relationships and networks within a complex and collaborative organization- Robust network-building skills with a passion for cultivating external relationships
