This is a challenging and interesting role within Legal Markets & Custody with a broad scope of legal and regulatory activities focusing on Swiss and European financial markets regulations. You will support the relevant businesses in the day-to-day activities including the implementation of regulatory initiatives and the distribution of financial instruments and digital assets. Legal Markets & Custody is a highly motivated and dynamic team that works on various Swiss and international topics.
**YOUR CHALLENGE**:
- General legal and regulatory advice regarding the day-to-day activities of the Markets division (sales & trading) in all asset classes (funds, structured products, equities, fixed income, FX/precious metals, private equity). Maintenance of the Markets division distribution framework. Interaction with senior management
- Legal support of complex and sophisticated transactions for large clients, including drafting of the documentation and taking into consideration all related regulatory aspects
- Legal support of the institutional client business (including Custody) and client-related M&A advisory offerings by the bank
- Further supporting the development of e-tools for the Markets division
- Appointment and management of external counsels
- Cross-divisional, cross-functional international collaboration with colleagues from other areas and/or locations
- Supporting national and international legal and business projects in the areas of expertise
**YOUR PROFILE**:
- University degree in law, preferably from a Swiss University, is a must: bar admission would be an asset
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience at a corporate law firm or a financial service provider (preferably private banking)
- Knowledge of financial instruments, including distribution requirements and restrictions
- Knowledge of the Swiss banking and contract law, in particular financial markets regulation governing the banking industry (FMIA, FinSA ) as well as an interest in European financial markets regulations ( MiFID II/MiFIR) and EMIR )
- Dynamic, flexible and capable of working independently as well as in groups
- Analytical, structured and solution orientated
- Good communicator, capable of coping with pressure and with a natural capacity for persuading and convincing
- Excellent command of written and spoken German and English is a must, additional languages would be an asset
