**What will you do? (Job Responsibilities)**
As the first a Rental Account Manager in the program, you will work with selected dealers to further define the commercial strategy by country, industry segment and customer type. Then during the pilot phase, you will negotiate the first international customers contracts and work with selected countries to deliver the value proposition. As the program grows, you will focus on building a portfolio of new business and develop the accounts revenue. You will work closely with our dealer network, building their capabilities to meet and exceed Europe Key Account expectations and grow year over year revenue within and across your portfolio.
- Work with dealers to identify account opportunities and validate industry segments potential.
- Develop a deep understanding of specific segments value chain, rental needs, and decision-making process.
- Help dealers develop operational rental capabilities to execute the program.
- Lead contract negotiations with new national account prospects.
- Develop and maintain effective internal Caterpillar business partner relationships as well as relationships with major customers to achieve sales objectives.
- Develop and execute account strategies and activities for specified accounts; establish high-level relationships with business decision makers and identify business needs and problems.
- Develop and implement market strategies for key industries and customers, as well as secure commitments from Caterpillar and dealer resources to assure continued customer satisfaction.
- Provide consultation to various departments within Caterpillar regarding the direction and strategies that key industry leaders will be adopting in the future.
- Consult with dealers and districts about rental revenue, sales and service support of products in your portfolio.
- Travel in the field to monitor and resolve issues regarding customer satisfaction and future product needs.
- Develop product support and other types of program planning for assigned customers, take steps necessary to assure product health to maintain and enhance rental revenue growth.
- Make regular visits to customer locations in your assigned area to provide advice and counsel to potential customers.
- Ensure that account decision makers have been fully exposed to the features/ benefits available from Caterpillar products/services and dealers before they finalize purchasing decisions.
- Manage the compliance of assignments and keep up to date with new industry trends, changing technology and regulations affecting the competitive environment.
**How You’ll be Successful (Basic Qualifications)**
- 5+ years of progressive sales experience with international accounts
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- Ability to travel 50% (in Europe)
- Ability to be a change agent, be flexible, as the program is under construction
**Additional Keys to Success (Desired Qualifications)**
- Prior experience within the rental equipment industry, or the car rental industry
- Experience in contractual relationship with end-customers and distribution dealers in Europe
- Work experience in procurement management or fleet management
- Start-up experience and entrepreneurial spirit, agility of mind
- Strong time management, project management and organization skills
- Strong verbal, written and visual communicator
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to successfully influence others and achieve goals
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Desire to contribute to Caterpillar’s culture and uphold company core values
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and dedication to quality
This role is based in Geneva, Switzerland. Other locations (Germany, the UK) may be considered. Relocation assistance may be provided to those that are eligible.
