The VSL is a highly visible position with responsibility for supporting the development and execution of the End to End (E2E) Value Stream initiatives for Topical Skin Adhesives (TSA) also known as the Dermabond family. This is an entrepreneurial role, with a mix of strategic and tactical elements that operates within a multi-functional and global environment. Serves as the leader of a portfolio of products, projects and processes. Primary responsibility is to optimize supply chain process performance based upon end-to-end thinking, making conscious-profitable tradeoffs, and overall product ownership. This role will ensure attainment of Business Objectives and drive Functional Excellence and Accountability. This role will connect Supply Chain, Commercial, and R&D partners to develop customer-centric Life Cycle strategies that deliver franchise objectives with a particular focus on growth and capacity expansion. Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Maximize the impact of Value Stream Management (VSM) by maturing the End to End Operating model. Modify and continuously improve standard JNJ VSM processes. Deliverables will include the development and deployment of: Product Strategy Roadmap (PSR), Life-cycle Portfolio Prioritization, Product Performance Management, Issue Management, Stakeholder Management, etc.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills and be able to drive a team and senior level stakeholders towards a final decision in an environment with high levels of ambiguity, complexity, and risk. Work across functional boundaries, aligning with partners on a roadmap for change, and interacting with all levels in the organization.
- Deliver senior leader communications to the commercial President and supporting Leadership Team.
- Measure supply chain process performance, collect and analyze data, develop new data analysis methods and techniques to provide deep insights. Build new digital analytical capabilities within the supply chain. Identify opportunities and develop mitigation strategies where proactive structural changes in E2E supply chain design may be necessary to meet future risks and competitive threats.
- Lead the development and refresh of the Product Strategy Roadmap (PSR) and incorporate the output into the Business and Long Range Financial Plans. Collaborate with key business partners to identify a broad set of cross-functional needs and build consensus on product, process, and people priorities.
- Drive prioritization efforts within the value stream’s project portfolio. Build business cases for new Life Cycle Management projects and ensure they meet overall strategic objectives. Direct resources and efforts to make improvements.
- Conduct analysis to recommend and execute optimal Product Portfolio mix. Develop solutions for end-to-end cost and inventory optimization, work with strategic marketing, regulatory, R&D and technical groups to ensure readiness to react to market / customer requirements and deliver on product life cycle innovations.
- Member of the WC Supply Chain Leadership Team.
Accountable for:
- Owning the analysis, planning, execution, improving, and monitoring of Value Stream performance. Leading a cross functional team to develop strategic plan for the value stream.
- Setting targets for, and designing the supply chain network to achieve the strategic capacity plan
- Developing and securing approval/funding for business cases to support the PSR.
- Partner with Commercial team to drive portfolio and GP optimization
- Facilitating and creating content to advance value stream management maturity.
- Modeling E2E scenarios and their trade-offs. Providing options and recommendations to senior leaders. Selling the idea and securing approval for implementation.
- Linking franchise business strategy to the supply chain network strategy
- Connecting the day-to-day performance with the business plan and strategic plan.
**Qualifications**:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain or related areas is required. A Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree is preferred.
