**Details of Employment**:
The Associate Project Manager, Heart of Stigma will be based in Geneva, Switzerland, and the IAS offers the possibility for Swiss-based employees to work up to 50% from their legal residence. The Associate Project Manager will report to the Senior Project Manager, Heart of Stigma. The position is full-time and short-term to start as soon as possible for 18 months maximal duration.
**Purpose of the Position**:
Through its programmes, the HIV Programmes and Advocacy department harnesses research, shapes the evidence base and amplifies the voices of communities living with and affected by HIV to influence policy across and beyond the HIV care continuum. The Heart of Stigmaprogramme aims to support stakeholders in the HIV response to scale up efforts to eliminate HIV-related stigma and discrimination.
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the effective and efficient administration of the Getting to the Heart of Stigma programme.
**Main Responsibilities**:
**Supporting the day-to-day activities of the project**
Work closely with team members to ensure an effective and efficient project management of the “Heart of Stigma” programme:
- Budget tracking, including online budget updates
- Manage contracts for all project consultants and sub-awardees, track timelines, deliverables and expenditures
- Review invoices to align with budget plans and investment agreements
- Track data on key performance indicators and achievements for internal and external reporting purposes
- Support the development of project deliverables including a country-led self-assessment tool on HIV-related stigma and discrimination
- Organize travel arrangements for staff, consultants and external partners.
**Coordinating and organizing project meetings and events**
- Organize virtual and in-person meetings, webinars, conference sessions and other dissemination events to foster and strengthen a sustained coordinated response to HIV-related stigma and discrimination
- Prepare supporting documents, taking minutes and following up on action points and logístical arrangements, as required.
- Provide logístical support to in-country visits including for peer-to-peer learning exchanges and for piloting of the country-led self-assessment tool
- Organize virtual and in-person events of the project such as workshops, satellite sessions and other dissemination events.
**Drafting project documents and reports**
- Contribute to the development of funder reports and developing new grant proposals
- Draft content on the project for IAS internal reporting such as monthly reports and updates to the Governing Council.
**Engaging with key stakeholders**
- Schedule and prepare routine check-ins with donors
- Coordinate stakeholders on select working groups and advisory boards.
Perform any additional tasks requested by the Senior Project Manager, Heart of Stigma, the Senior Technical Advisor, HIV Programmes and Advocacy and the Director, HIV Programmes and Advocacy.
**Academic Qualifications**:
- A degree in public health, law, medicine, human rights, international relations, development or other relevant discipline.
**Experience**:
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar position working in HIV, human rights and public health
- Experience managing grants, project implementation, reporting and/or research programmes, ideally in an eastern and southern African setting
- Experience coordinating large meeting logistics, workshops or other meetings, including international travel and/or virtual meeting arrangements
- Experience working with external partners, donors, service providers and/or consultants
**Skills/Competencies**:
- Is a strong team player with aptitude for lateral thinking, developing and implementing new ideas
- Displays strong stakeholder management skills, sense of diplomacy, cross-cultural interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Communicates effectively with and relates to people of different cultures, demonstrating an ability to see issues from other perspectives
