Design Manager Group 100%

-You will have overall responsibility / leadership of design procedure and tools at mageba Group.Defining, implementing and controlling of group-wide design standards, guidelines, templates and libraries at Group level and local entities. You will coordinate and support the Design functions in local entities. This function is located at our Headquarters in Bülach, Switzerland and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) mageba Group.
Your Responsibilities
Creating and implementing the group-wide design strategy with focus on scope and responsibilities (actual and aimed development) in our different design offices
Liaising with the local Technical Office Managers, ensuring sufficient and adequate design resources within the group in terms of capacities and skills
Collaborating with the Technology Center (R&D) leaders, defining and implementing group-wide and harmonized design standards, procedures, guidelines and templates, in particular use of design tools (calculations and drawings). Strong focus on training and controlling of effective implementation
Assuming overall ownership of all CAD aspects (3D and 2D)
Optimizing document and revision management system (internally and externally)
Aligning with Sales and Project Managers, defining the direction to develop for BIM
Continuously controlling and optimizing group-wide design performance (cost, schedule, quality etc.)
Directly driving continuous improvements with regard to design / drawings
Partnering with our Technology Centers (R&D) to support technological developments from a design aspect
Supporting important customer projects (occasional active project work)
- Your Profile
Technical degree with relevant engineering design qualification or technical design apprenticeship with continuous professional training. Practical career path preferred
Min. 5 years of work experience in an internationally operating company, preferably in steel-processing, and min. 3 years of experience in a similar design management function
Profound experience with CAD software in 2D and 3D (preferably Solidworks and Autocad) and proficiency with MS-Office software
Proven record of successfully managed optimization projects
Convincing personality, able to push through changes across a group of companies
Enjoying working with cross-cultural and multi-departmental teams
Entrepreneurial, self-organized, proactive, hands-on and well-structured
Proficiency in English (C1) and preferably German (B2) - other languages are a plus
