**About the role**:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our Data Science and Advanced AI team as the Head of Strategy and Governance. This individual will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and governance of our Data Science & advanced AI initiatives, ensuring alignment with our organizational goals, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

**How you will contribute**:**
- Shape and drive the strategic direction of the Data Science & Advanced AI function to meet organizational goals.
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure compliance, ethical AI practices, and data protection.
- Foster innovation and the development of data-driven solutions to enhance business performance.
- Enable and accelerate a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Develop and implement strategic plans and roadmaps aligned with business objectives and opportunities.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to align data science & advanced AI strategies with organizational priorities.
- Oversee the implementation of AI governance frameworks
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to integrate AI and data-driven decision-making into business processes.
- Manage the demand, budget, resources, value and performance metrics for the data science & advanced AI function.
- Stay informed on industry trends and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
- Promote a culture of ethical AI and data practices and continuous learning within the team.
- Mentor and develop team members to maximize their potential and career growth.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Strategy, or Law); Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
- MBA with a focus on AI, Digital Transformation, or Strategy is a plus.
- 12+ years of experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles within AI, data strategy, or governance.
- Proven track record in executing AI & data strategies at an enterprise level.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex, global organizations.
- Expertise in AI governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Skilled in agile product development.
- Fluency in English.

This is an individual contributor role, so you should be prepared to roll up your sleeves and flex a wide variety of skills. You will report directly to the Head of Data Science and Advanced AI. This role requires onsite/hybrid presence in our Zurich office and cannot be performed as remote only role.
