**R&D Project Manager (80-100%)**:**

In November 2020, ABB announced the planned divestment of its Turbocharging Division. Turbocharging is a successful and profitable Division in a mature market and has been for long a highly self-reliant business within ABB, which has decided to take this step, acknowledging that for Turbocharging to realize its full potential going forward, a new setup is required. As the next step, alternative ownership options, including a spin-off to the Swiss stock market, will be assessed, considering value for customers, ABB and the future of the turbocharging business. In this position, you will contribute ideas for innovative technology developments and solutions, working to solve industrial problems. You will contribute significantly to successful results in the development of next generation turbocharging products in ABB Turbocharging division, Baden, Switzerland. Reporting to the Head of Product Technology & Concepts, you will utilize your in-depth technical expertise to support the concept scouting and technology development process and in execution of research and development (R&D) projects. Your knowledge of product cost will be considered at the very beginning of development projects and ensures later financial success of the developed products adding tangible and significant value to our customers’ businesses.

R&D Team Lead

**Your responsibilities**:

- Develop leading edge products, which meet and exceed customer requirements whilst ensuring operational safety and product reliability
- Work out studies and concepts for current and future products based on the input from company strategy and align them with Sales, Service, Production and Product Management Team
- Single point of contact for product cost within development projects
- Propose and drive product cost analysis / models for future products using should cost software and cost modeling tools.
- Manage and collaborate in development and improvement projects
- Propose and drive optimizations of working processes which support lean development and continuous quality improvement

**Your background**:

- At least two years of experience in Mechanical Engineering working as a Project Manager or Engineer, with a very strong focus on product cost
- Sound knowledge of state-of-the art development methods
- Knowledge of state-of-the art product cost and production methods
- Strong project management skills, ability to understand complex situations and lateral thinking to generate innovative solutions
- A university degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably a Master degree
- Fluency in English required, fluency in German is beneficial
