**What you will do***

In this challenging and important role, you are responsible for maintaining the supplier portfolio to ensure cost-effective material availability for production in Switzerland, Austria and USA. You are the go-to person when it comes to suppliers’ consolidation in order to leverage savings potential, establish economies of scale and build long-term relationships. The management of a global commodity category sits with you including the guidance for purchasing volumes.

**Responsibilities will include**
- Procurement market research through analysis of the potential supplier market and classification of potential suppliers.
- Establishment and maintenance of a global material group; further development of suppliers and commodity groups.
- Supplier evaluation and development according to procurement strategy.
- Development and implementation of the procurement strategy for the assigned suppliers and commodity groups.
- Identification and implementation of potential cost savings.
- Suppliers risk management.
- Negotiation of contracts accordingly to company’s regulations.
- Contact person for procurement-related questions to upstream and downstream departments.
- Advising project purchasing and R&D on the allocation of parts and assemblies to the most suitable suppliers.
- Ensuring and continuously developing the efficient handling of procurement and logistics processes.
- Ensuring the availability of all materials and development of the supplier base in the event of changes in demand.

**What you bring along**
- Technical education plus further trainings in the field of Supply Chain Management/Strategic Procurement.
- Minimum 5 years’ work experience and minimum 3 years in in the area of Supply Chain Management/Strategic Procurement (work experience in the Biotech industry is a major asset).
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
- Very good knowledge of the national and international supplier market
- Strong negotiation skills
- Good SAP R/3 and MS Office knowledge
