**Presentation**:
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study the role of microglial function in the pathogenesis of brain disorders.
Microglia, the innate immune cells of the central nervous system, play important functions in the healthy as well as in the diseased brain. Several genes associated with the risk of developing brain diseases are highly expressed in microglia, and recent evidence suggests that these cells can critically influence the onset and course of several pathologies. However, the underlying cellular mechanisms are not entirely clear.

Expected start date in position : September 2025

Contract length : 1 year with possibility of renewal

**Your responsibilities**:
This project will focus on the influence of stress and lipid metabolism on microglia, following paradigms that recapitulate early life adverse events.

We will combine in vivo (cKO mouse lines) and ex vivo/in vitro models (organotypic slices and primary microglia cultures) with biochemical and histological approaches, confocal imaging, lipidomics and sc-RNA sequencing.
