The postdoctoral project aims to understand the regulation of selective autophagy pathways in the mammalian brain using a combination of in vivo experiments with mouse models as well as proteomics, transcriptomics, biochemistry, and cell and molecular biology techniques.Job informationExpected start date in position : March-April 2026, flexible.Contract length : 1 year, renewable.Activity rate : 100%Workplace : University of Lausanne, Department of Fundamental Neurosciences (DNF)Your responsibilitiesThe successful candidate will work on a scientific project using state-of-the-art techniques in monitoring selective autophagy pathways in vivo, combined with sleep recordings, homeostatic perturbations and behavioral assays, as well as -omics analyses. In addition, the candidate will have opportunities to use a toolbox of leading-edge biochemistry and cell biology techniques for autophagy research that were developed in the lab. Lastly, the candidate will contribute to the training and mentoring of graduate students, the preparation and review of manuscripts, and grant applications.Your qualificationsHighly committed, driven and with team spirit.Ph.D. in life sciences, preferably in neuroscience or in the field of autophagy.Advanced understanding of autophagy.Knowledge in imaging, biochemistry, omics.Fluency in oral and written English.Desired qualificationsExperience with imaging and biochemistry using mouse model systems.What the position offers youWe offer a nice working place in a multicultural, diverse and dynamic academic environment.
