Key responsibilities:
- Plan, lead and execute internal and external innovation projects from concept to delivery and align these with Lonza’s strategic innovation programs, CDMO services and commercial business needs
- Manage and train a team of scientists and technicians to ensure timely project delivery, documentation and reporting
- Support the innovation process by evaluating and implementing of new technologies and enabling a successful technology transfer to Lonza’s Microbial CDMO services
Key requirements:
- PhD in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a similar field with min. 3 years industry experience in Strain Engineering; or MSc. in comparable fields with min. 7 years industrial experience in Strain Engineering
- Min. 3 years of proven scientific Project Management experience
- Strong background and hands-on experience in Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology or Genome Engineering including associated bioanalytical methods (protein analytics, NGS etc); experience in automation, high-throughput screening and/or fermentation is a plus
- Excellent skills in Data Analysis of complex data sets
- Scientific rigor, organizational skills and ability to communicate results internally and outside Lonza
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment combined with a Lean/Agile mindset
- Excellent communication skills in English complete your profile. German is a plus.
