**Business Development Initiatives Manager (Life&Health)**:
The BDI team works directly with markets to help define the client/product opportunity, and manage the product development work with client, PRE experts, external partners. We can also augment the market CPs/actuarial teams to build new products and prototypes when there are constraints on resource or expertise.
Reporting to the Head of BD Initiatives, the BDI manager will lead in the management and execution of global commercial initiatives that improve the value proposition, efficiency, or effectiveness of our market teams, mainly in the development of new product solutions with global potential.
In this role, you will:
- Actively support global and regional efforts to extend value proposition to drive sustained growth in net income.
- Lead where global leverage exists - especially on product development & enhancements, and related execution/pilots in market.
- Co-lead, or lead directly, initiatives with global potential and/or scale, together with markets and functions interested in their execution.
- Main focus on New reinsurance propositions or retail products
- New partnerships on innovative topics and/or across regions
- Development of new client-facing assets
- Help in the identification and assessment of market gaps and needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide expert product views, ideas and recommendations that will drive our growth efforts globally.
- Support the head of BDI on shaping and advancing the team’s contribution to L&H strategy and results.
- Identify, promote, and develop knowledge bases, best practice and excellence.
- Conduct market research and evaluation of both primary market and competitors’ offerings to ensure PartnerRe is well positioned to deliver new, sustainable, and relevant ideas in the strategic areas defined.
To be successful in the role you will demonstrate centered leadership, ability to identify opportunities and issues in a collaborative manner, and project mgmt./delivery of tangible results that matter to our clients and to our internal stakeholders. Spirit of initiative, problem solving and empathy will be key assets to supplement your core technical/professional skills.
**About you**:
- Extensive life reinsurance product development experience (+5 years) and technical understanding.
- Strong preference for actuarial background and broad global experience - with a cross-functional, global network (or ability to build one quickly).
- Appropriate risk awareness and knowledge of proposition relevance in pricing, distribution, underwriting journey.
- Qualified Actuary with a blend of pricing and product development expertise or a or strong Product Manager, proven in their track record and knowledge across multiple markets.
- Very strong project management and commercial skills. Ability to translate concepts to tangible action plans
- An action-oriented focus, to deliver results and client focus. Ability to communicate, align resources and get things done through influencing with peers and seniors
- High degree of autonomy and agility, as part of a small team. Ability to deal with ambiguity, abstraction
- Have a curious, analytical yet creative mind to be the owner of the product development ideation process. Have an ambition to find the next great product development which delivers value to customers and recognition to PartnerRe.
- Open and collaborative style - must be comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared, challenged, and can change often. Active listener, bring energy and have a real desire to contribute to a high-performing team to help the business unit achieve great heights together.
