- As a Research Manager in Kemptthal, you will:
- Manage the development and industrialisation of new biotech-based ingredients and safe, sustainable processes for manufacturing.
- Lead local team of biotech scientists and biotech engineers
- Manage cross-regional project teams.
- Implement projects following global strategy.
- Maintain the position of the KE biotech team. Being the contact for Jing Zhang (assignments for projects) and Thomas Kirsch (understanding of strategy)
- Develop relationships with main partners within and outside of S&T and manage external collaborations on a local/regional level
- You will report to the Research Director.**Your main responsibilities**:

- Responsible for managing, hiring and development of a group of Scientific Employees (incl. target setting, performance reviews and talent development)
- Monitor progress of programs in IDDC for the technical category development portfolio and ensures resource allocation across projects and works this with the required functional heads
- Guide and executes on the technical strategy for the category assigned
- Evaluate technological advances in all relevant disciplines, identify external partners and work with functional heads to incorporate new external technologies in the innovation portfolio
- Ensure and collaboration across departments inside and outside of S&T (S&T functions, CTL’s, CE, OPS, regulatory, and legal)
- Lead 5-10 people within the team

**You have**:

- Master degree or PhD in Biotechnology / Biotech Engineering
- At least 5 years of hands-on expertise in Biotechnology and process development
- People management and talent development
- Skills and expertise in project management
- Biotech expert with solid experience in process development
- People manager and team player providing focus and direction with the ability to constructively and maintain good team spirit.
- Project manager with structured and focused approach
- Simplify complex scope and limitations
- Understand different scientific disciplines and the benefit they will provide to the flavor industry
- Knowledge of the flavour and food business, how scientific and technical areas influence the business
