As Category Technical Leader you will translate our needs into a technical strategy that results in projects built into a roadmap for the category. Moreover you will manage the technical category team to meet the milestones. As category sponsor you will also guide all innovation projects in the category towards commercialization. You will be based in Kemptthal and report directly to the Head of Explore Food Ingredients.

**You Will**:
**Strategy Management**
- Shape the technical strategy for the Texture and Emulsification category
- Ensure alignment of programs and functional area targets with our category strategy
- Provide a view of how to best use Science and Technology foundation projects in the category to deliver the strategy
- Ensure state-of-the-art landscapes and balanced technology roadmaps for defined technical category
- Review competitors, intellectual property and regulatory landscape as part of the exercise to identify gaps, needs and constraints

**Innovation Management**
- Monitor technological advances in all relevant disciplines
- Identify external partners and work with functional heads to incorporate new external technologies in the innovation portfolio
- Review innovation roadmaps with regions to gain regional approval
- Monitor progress of programs for the technical category innovation portfolio
- Provide input to Science and Technology Functional Heads and Flavors Patent Committee

**Team Management**
- Manage a group of Scientific Employees
- Set targets, reviews, performance evaluations and talent evaluations for the team
- Develop Scientists concerning functional competencies

**Partner Management**
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments inside and outside of Science and Technology
- Coordinate validation with regional champions of new technologies at the stage where the Technical Readiness is reached within the Develop phase of the project

**Be contact for technical aspects**
- Be the contact person for the whole organization for any technical aspects relating to the responsible technical category
- Main contact for technical issues for key customers

**You?**

**You Have**:

- Master or PhD in Food Science, Chemistry or Biology
- 10+ years of experience in a similar role in the food industry
- Experience with leading scientists and science programs
- Experienced in delivering innovation in the texture and emulsification area
- Experience with market trends and dynamics in the field, competitive landscapes and regulatory framework
- Business Fluent in English; additional languages are of advantage
