Die Universitätsbibliothek (UB) Basel ist mit ihren fünf Standorten eines der wichtigsten öffentlichen Informationszentren der Region. Mit einem Bestand von rund 7,5 Millionen gedruckten und elektronischen Medien, einer halben Million Besucher*innen jährlich sowie ihrem bedeutenden, bis ins 8. Jahrhundert zurückreichenden historischen Bestand gehört sie zu den grossen wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken der Schweiz. Zugleich ist sie Kantonsbibliothek von Basel-Stadt und für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. In ihrer Rolle als Vermittlerin zwischen Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft bietet sie verschiedenen Anspruchsgruppen einen vielseitigen Lern- und Begegnungsraum.

Die UB Basel bietet angehenden Studierenden des Bachelor-Studiengangs Information Science ein vorgängiges Praxisjahr für die Dauer von zehn bis zwölf Monaten an. Ihre Aufgaben
  • Beteiligung an Projekten und in Arbeitsgruppen - Bringen Sie Ihre Ideen ein und gestalten Sie mit.
  • Information und Beratung - Unterstützen Sie unsere Bibliotheksbenutzenden auf der Suche nach Information.
  • Einsatz in unterschiedlichen Teams - Je nach Interesse und Vorkenntnissen finden wir gemeinsam passsende Bereiche für Sie.
  • Unterstützung des Fachreferats - Helfen Sie mit bei der Betreuung verschiedener Wissensgebiete.
Ihr Profil
  • Gymnasial- oder Fachmatur, abgeschlossene Berufslehre mit Berufsmaturität oder vergleichbare Ausbildung
  • Voraussetzung ist ein geplantes Fachhochschulstudium Information Science
  • gute Kenntnisse der MS-Office-Anwendungen und versierter Umgang mit Online-Tools und neuen Medien
  • Freude am Umgang mit Kund*innen
  • Teamfähigkeit, Flexibilität und gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten
